Overnight stop near Santander 17th January 2017

Help please, being a relative newby. We are travelling to Southern Spain at the begining of January 2017 but we arrive in Santander at 1700hrs so we will need a stopover location that is safe prior to setting off south on the following morning any suggestions
or advice will be greatly appreciated.

    Are you a caravanner or a motorhomer?  Knowing which type of unit you are can affect the advice given.
