Followed your instructions (basically) & managed to get a 200x150 dimension picture which looks OK to me. It is though 54.5kb will have to see if it is OK to put on the CT forum later. The choices on my menus were slightly different. eg dimensions instead of pixels.  I had earlier used the menu giving me a choice of smaller, small, medium & large. I use Windows 10 & have stayed with photogallery from my windows 7 so that probably accounts for the slightly different menus

odd how we have to faff about resizing photos (for 'storage' reasons...) yet i could load up a video (100 times as large) without thinking...

I don't think you can actually up load a video, only reference one on the internet. I am sure I saw this on one thread or another.

Yes, they are just blank squares on my iPad, although they were there yesterday. Very strange. I have logged in and out several times but still not there. I think the one thing that is clear, is that although posting photos is easier, it is still not straightforward.

    Testing various photo size.

the first one is 500 pixel with and the other two 600 and 700, its only the smaller one that displays complete when the thumbnail is clicked on

Thanks Impy but if you saw the original or even the one I posted on the other versions of the website the image was sharp and the detail spectacular.  My point is than even when you enlarge the image the quality is very poor and doesn't fully represent the original.

    Hi Happy Christmas

To see this larger on iPad you have to use the spread the fingers method.

On Laptop you cannot enlarge photo is too large for the box.

    Dianne

You have to manually resize the photo to a width of 500 pixels before posting. If you do this the thumbnail will enlarge so on a double click and show the full photo.

Was able to post a practice picture or 2 with a helpful poster's instructions on the old site - unable to do so at present here & Rochell's instructions are the same - photo appears then disappears & I saw briefly what I guess is programing language.

Need to get on with Xmas things so will just read posts for a while. Have a good Xmas everyone

Will we see this at Christmas?

Resized to 500 pixels wide, using Paint.net on Windows & desktop.

Looks very pretty but I bet it's a bit of a pain for you farmers. That sort of size / resolution was the most I could achieve as well Goldie. Particularly if I wanted to post 5.

Steve  - what App do you use to resize on your Ipad? I've looked and found loads, but haven't downloaded yet.

    Thanks!

I spent a while looking for one that had anything but terrible reviews. This was one of the few and although no reviews for this version, the previous version reviews were good. It is free to download and only has non obtrusive advertising. Although you can get this removed if you want to buy it.

I found it very easy to use and so far it has worked faultlessly.

I am finding links on this new forum a little more difficult to get to work. So if this does not get you to the App Store post and let me know.

    Test.

Will the 'resize' bodge continue or will the forum be updated to do it automatically or...

Will the display box be edited to show the full images without scrolling.

Will the forum be changed so that a clickable thumbnail can be inserted from Photobucket or some such on line source?

Nice to see the 'edit' function is now working....Thank You!

This may have been answered, but a simple copy/duplicate in photoshop and image resize of the copy to 500kb  gives you both. Very simple solution, works on windows and now works from a mac.

    Can't help with I-Pad though.

I think you need to stick to 500 pixels max if you want to prevent scrolling over the image. 500 fits the enlargement. I think the CC said this is to prevent overload on the site.
