I've started a thread just entitled 'Photos and Video' so as not to hi-jack the more specific Ipad related thread already started,  Hopefully this will give people the opportunity to discuss any general questions related to photos and perhaps to experiment posting.

Hope this helps.

Test - can I still upload the old way from photobucket?  It's looking like the answer may be No on first glance.

When you click on the thumbnail, Goldie, you can't see the full picture without scrolling?

    I probably should have resized.

Same dimensions as before - 430?

    Hi Goldie,

Are you using the 'insert/edit video' button to upload the video?

If you post the link for the video in the 'Source' box then it should work - if you could let me know what type of link you're trying to upload then I might be able to solve the problem

I think the resizing of photos is going to be a bit of a pain.  Before, when we uploaded to photobucket, we could resize in photobucket, therefore you could keep the resized photo on photobucket and the original on you laptop.  We'll  think on it for an easy solution.

My second attempt worked - I just opened a You Tube video and copied and pasted the URL.

Can I upload a video directly from my PC - or does it have to be on the Internet somewhere?

I've noticed that square photos work best turning them into a better 'thumbnail' as avatars in landscape & portrait have some grey not in the photo itself

Trying to use "Embed" - I copied the code into the box, but got "this is a required field". What field? On the Embed tab there is only one box.

I posted on another thread about resizing photos. If you can reduce the pixels to just under 200 (on windows photo edit) the photo will work. Will try a video of my niece now.

The best way to avoid this comment is by writing something in the box when you edit and then post it.  Write something like 'Removed by Kennine'  laughing

Having cropped & resized to  what I thought was a square photo to fill the avatar space obviously wasn't - still got grey Good to have a thread to practice on

There is a limit on size for photos 500kb, so a normal photo from most cameras will not upload they are around a 2mb file. Cannot upload from Flickr like before.

Using the pixel method of re-sizing 500kb down to 159 x 213 pixels.
