Ian, what is the point of all this? Give it a rest, eh.

I dont know why those five or so members insist in having a joint go at individual members. Personal insults against individual members by groups is unacceptable on any forum. The group also seem to be obsessed by Enid Blyton characters. ------------With whats happening in the world I worry about the mindset of the five or so members whose only interest is Enid Blyton .

Famous Five : Julian, Dick, George, Anne & Timmy
Oh, that's who they are, and I thought the term was a euphonism for those who hold a different opinion to the odd one or two!

can anyone name the secret seven?

Just to be clear, some years ago I called a group of people posting on here the famous five. I won't be naming them but some no longer post here. No further comment necessary
That's interesting OP, you coined the phrase originally then the 'famous five' hijacked your phrase eh?,

I think the last few pages amply illustrate what I was saying in my original Post. Sadly some will never learn the sheer futility of what they are about!
TF
TF, your original post at the head of this thread has proved very prophetic, it proves the point that posters like you should never give up, you should continue the crusade to bring sanity to CT, to be the conscience of other less respectful individuals.
Your input is sound guidance for the future of this Forum. Power to your posts.0 -
The previous. Group of 5 which Oneput named "the famous five" almost destroyed this forum. They worked together to shut up any individual whose opinions were not in line with their own by personally attacking the poster instead of the post. They were also described as" theClique."
Sadly we are seeing a resurgence of this practice by a group of five sometimes six who it seem to think that anybody who posts not in accordance with their collective opinion is deserving of personal insults.
Having respect for all posters is what makes for a good forum. We dont have to agree but IMO but surely we can disagree in an adult and respectful way.

K
K, your last paragraph echoes the views of my earlier post on page five.
With regard to these members who you say make “personal Insults”, Bugs has already advised that anyone breaking the Community Guidelines should be reported to the CM.
That way we can all enjoy the forum in a friendly respectful manner as you rightly posted.

Having been a regular contributor to CT since its inception I can confidently suggest that the term famous five has been used to describe folk on several occasions across the years. Suffice it to say that on many occasions it has though been aimed in a derogatory way at people who just simply hold a different view from the person using the term. Many who have been attributed to being in this group over these years have in actual fact been poles apart in their opinions.
However, I'd go as far as to say that several who have used the term have done so to deliberately label others in a rather cheap and derogatory fashion. I for one have never used it and I have never been catagorised as such to my knowledge. Long may the friendship of CT continue and hopefully the terms like Famous Five, Pitch Blockers, Something for Nothings, etc are a thing of the past.

I cannot understand. I come onto club together to try and help anyone who wants listen. I come with a honest opinion. If I do not know I will Google to find out nobody knows everything. Unlike some people think they do. There are some out there that if you say something they do not like, they question everything you say in most cases not justified. I had better stop there as I may say something to upset someone. And I have been set on in the past for saying something that someone did not agree with there thinking and not just one person they need backup and cry to a mediator.

Don't sweat it KG, there are a few posters whose whole life is aimed at causing disharmony & sowing discontent. Best to just do your own thing & swerve em as much as you can. Yes they will pop up regularly with their animosity but they soon slope off
