Oh dear, having been away for quite a while and just recently come back, I was hoping that CT would have settled down a bit, and become a much happier place.

But no, its still populated by several who just love to argue. It dosen't matter what about, lets just be as arguementataive as possible score points, and try to belittle any one who you don't agree with.

Sadly several of the relatively new contributors are giving distinct signs of being the new trolls that I thought we might have got to go away.

Luckily being one of the old ***s I have been there before and my T shirt is quite worn out, so I'm not too worried about what abuse any of you want to chuck this way. But I will say this.

I have been a member of this club since the very early days, and I consider CT to be a very positive factor in the clubs continued success.  But the constant arguements and the attempts to put others down is not the way to hold any debate. The ability to
put your point forward without rancour, sarcasm or sheer abuse is the mark of a proper well balanced person.  That does not require a private education or anything like that,  spelling is not the ultimate test I know that mine can let me down sometimes. I
was a product of the secondary modern system but even I can appreciate the need to put an argement forward constructively.

Common Guys lets keep CT on the right track. Keep the lid on it!

Good post TF, You are correct. The group abuse on individuals whose views dont coincide exactly with that group's is still happening.

Like yourself It doesnt bother me in the least, but I can see it being off-puting to less experienced and new members.

A forum is always much more enjoyable when members respect each other and resist personal insults on individuals,  even when they perhaps dont agree on the subject being discussed.

There will always be the odd one or two on any social media, who it seems, will try to continue a thread by posting anything (without reading their previos posts) to make out that other posters to the thread have been wrong, but it does make them look silly
in the end,and  gives much enjoyment  to the majority which is what a "lively"debate should be aboutCool

him much, obviously there dad didnt instill on them like my old man did to me which was, "if you cant insult a man standing in front of him then dont do it at all"..

So true, Jay. Three Musketeers at the last count. Makes a mockery of the T&Cs doesn't it?

Yes, AD, it is serious and I've already named one.

Write your comments here.. Very true !!  Fortunately there are only the usual five or six who indulge in the personal insults against individuals. As you say, everybody knows who they are so they are easily ignored.  This forum is a friendly forum and IMO we're lucky to have some good moderators.

I agree and most of the "banter" fired at the few, is just to let them know a sidestep is normally a way of hiding their real ideas

Others on here cannot accept that many of us do like club sites and have to turn to insults to get their point across. Those that dare, in their eyes, to like the club are called  members of the CC fan club, too timid to go anywhere else,
    warden worshippers, or sycophantic.
These posters when lost for a good counter argument resort to insults.

As poeple have posted it is very a poor reflection on them, I cannot undertand their game plan, is it to bully people off CT?

Thats quite an accusation but serious if true, could you name them?

    Yes I could name them.

However I'm a fairly infrequent visitor nowadays due to the issues outlined in TFs OP as well as the sniping, the constant off topic trolling of posts, the monopolisation of threads by certain posters who just have to have the last word and I see little
    point in doing so.

It's up to the forum manager

This forum doesn't pick and choose who can post on CT ,(unless they ban you), so we have people who have different opinions on subjects which we have to accept to keep the flow of the forum going

There are caravan forums i know of that do pick and choose the members who can join ,and wonder if that makes for healthy debate if all the members are all like minded????

There's a broad spectrum of membership and views on forums that aren't affiliated to clubs Husky. Plenty of healthy but respectful debate goes on.

Good post Jay, TF felt the need to start this thread(rightly so) due to problems on here, other none affiliated Forums seem to manage to negate CT's issues by carefully weeding out undesirables before they start creating the atmosphere that happens on CT.

Well I still dont know who had  started posting under a new name and it seems nobody else does either that or is afraid to say.

    It's against T&Cs.

I'm a member of a number of forums they range from good discussion n forums to exceptional extremely boring. This forum falls into a  middle ranking.  The boring one claims to have no arguments but with two new posts a day that is not surprising

Write your comments here...Am I being a bit suspicious, but, how would you, an ordinary member of this CC forum, have access to information about the membership, only known to CC moderators and above. Have you friends in exalted places ?. Surprised

I personally have never noticed any new members who may have left the forum previously---- and I've been on this forum from the start.

If you know for certain that anyone has broken that T&C about rejoining under a different name, you will surely have notified the forum manager. Wink

You don't have to be Sherlock Holmes to realise eventually who the infiltrators are K. At least two who regularly spring up have been banned from posting on CT at least twice under their original names. Sadly, for reasons known only to the Club, they remain
free to hijack the forum when they feel like it. As for knowing who they are, eventually they give themselves away, plus you only have to take a look at who is "liking" their posts! Rocket science or conspiracy theory don't hold water I am afraid!

Unfortunately the temptation to respond to "alter egos" (banned members who return under a new log in to cause trouble) is irresistable to some...I've probably done it myself but it's not a good idea.

DD you can see who is liking posts under latest activities at the top of the page, click on Club Together.

It is odd for anyone who was originally banned to be so desperate to go thru all the cloak & dagger AKA's just to post on a Forum they could be on legitimately on if they'd not been naughty in the first placeLaughingLaughing
