I have not noticed a "gang" of anybody, there are one or two who enjoy a "debate" by "twisting" the facts to try to "win" against what is usually quite clear to the majority Wink

the little gang of the" Usual Suspects" post

K,  I probably think of the, as you put it,  'the usual suspects' as a totally different group of people than you do, so you may have to be more explicit

Write your comments here...Of course Oneput, happy to oblige.  :- I refer you to my previous post

    Quote :-

"It so easy to ignore the dark side of forums, on this one it is the personal insults against an individual
which appears to be the only reason that the little gang of the" Usual Suspects" post.

    Nope, that doesn't help.

All I can think is that one 'usual suspect' keeps using that term in order to stir things up.

K, let's be a little honest here. You have a somewhat deep rooted dislike of a certain few things that occasionally crop up on here. Teaching and teachers being one of them. Pontificating from your own pedestal doesn't hide this, and trying to throw a cloud
of mystery via "usual suspects" jibes only further shows disrespect to other posters. Which is the point of the opening posters case regarding arguments and off thread twists!

Write your comments here.. What makes you think I dislike Teachers and Teaching. I have many family members who are/were teachers and we get on really well.  It seems to be when school working hours and holidays are mentioned in all innocence, that some on here, cannot accept that to those who don't work in schools, teaching can be seen as a cushy little  stress-free pastime.

We've seen several instances of that recently, JVB. When you think about it, those posters are insulting the intelligence of the rest of us as they arrogantly assume we won't see through their ploys and they also think we won't remember they've pulled the
same trick time and time again.

Why they should spit their dummies when their games are foiled beats me. Perhaps they have overblown egos.

Like most forums there are characters. I also look beyond the postings to understand that sometimes people have major personal events in their lives, such as pending bereavement and use their hobby forums as a release from those pressures. Often those stories
become clear in the fulness of time.

No, KeefySher, we've all signed up for this forum by agreeing to the T&Cs, trolling is not something that should form part of the forum. Trolls take pleasure in upsetting and disrupting, in real life they may indeed have problems but this is not the place for inflicting more upsets. I can't recall anyone on here who has had something difficult going on in their lives using the forum to distress others. But I can recall lots of kindness and help towards anyone in need of comforting words and thoughts.

TW I simply don't understand why many other fora can self manage whereas CT fails so comprehensively.

It is rather an oddity, DD. My only guess is that posters know that suspension from the forum is rare and banning even rarer. This would appear to be due to the interface between CC and CT which apparently makes CC reluctant to act for fear of upsetting/losing
members and thus losing their business. The result is that some posters believe they can act with impunity.

With respect, you have taken a 180 degree interpretation of my post. Which highlights the one dimensional aspect of the written word on the internet and the need to comprehend context, that may not be immediately apparent on first reading.

Trolls live under bridges, and as in the fable are unreal and cowards.

When we had a MH, I was a moderator on the owners forum. There were several see you next tuesday types from their postings, that when challenged at rallies were asked why? The oft response was, no idea, but complete embarassment.

Hence why forums have to be taken as unreal.
