If your first trip is to a club site let the wardens know it is your first trip and if they have time most will help. Do not be afraid to ask others for help as well as most of us are only too happy to give some.

I would use a decent size site for your first trip so there are others about when you need them.

She's home!! Safe and sound, no dramas,

I have to say that Mark at " The Caravan Place" was superb, spent approx 2 hours with us, explained everything. Threw in a load of freebies. Bloke is a diamond.

And I must congradulate myself on reversing onto our drive off our narrow street, looked at it last night and got it all planned out, worked a treat with only one shunt forward because I wasnt close enough to the fence.

    Well chuffed.

Dont know what all the fuss was about really Cool

But I've just opened the box with the awning in it,

    Now theres a challenge!!

You need to use a host such as Photobucket. It's more trouble than it's worth to my mind but there is a thread on it in How To Use CT.

It's been a long time since I stayed on a site with a toilet block. We seem to manage fine with our own facilities! Like you say, the awning might be a challenge the first time but it does eventually get easier.

Hello Dave & Jules, welcome, hope you have some wonderful days ahead with the caravan, tell Jules it's 90 seconds in the shower, 30 secs to wet, 30 to soap and 30 to rinse off. Lol

The area is full of them, GC, although I can't recommend any personally.

Stoke Gabriel is the nearest village, Totnes and Paignton are both close. Why not ask the warden? Give him/her a ring. next on the list I would try an Internet search and the visit Devon website.

As some of you know we ventured on our first trip in our first caravan, we ended up going to Astbury Falls, nr Bridgnorth, although very basic, we totally enjoyed our weekend there, apart from the water problem we had. And the levelling was a bit of a nightmare.

The lanes were narrow, I had to turn round once because I missed the turning, but all in all everything went smoothly, all my worries about towing such a large outfit, ( approx 40 feet)

Are now well and truly behind me, got it back in position on the drive in 2 shunts. in fact I quite enjoyed it.

The Jeep performed brilliantly, rock solid, and although she averaged 21 mpg I am quite satisfied with that, the topography is very up and down but she pulled like a train,

to the point where I had to keep backing off the throttle as the speed crept up.

A good time, cant wait till the next weekend HappyHappyHappy
