Horse and cart rag and bone man came round the streets and I could get a goldfish in a plastic bag of water In exchange for old cloths.

I was supposed to get Donkey stone for whitening the doorstep edges.

I can also remember the milkman coming round with a horse and cart caring milk churns we used to take a jug out to him for our milk.

When the Co-op gave a dividend (the divvie). Each customer had a number. I was reminded of this last week at Ferry Meadows because the code for the amenities block was the same as our old divvie number. I thought the number was familiar and then remembered
it from 60 odd years ago, short term memory is rubbish but long term wow!

When having electricity and a toilet put in your house was the height of luxury. In our village you could listen to steam radio but it would be battery powered. When the battery needed charging you took it to the local shop and swapped it for a charged one.

When if you used the wash rooms on club sites you stood in line watching everybody else get washed. No privacy cubicles then.
