Cordless or battery operated blenders

Well the title says it all I hope. I'd like to cook homemade soups while caravanning. Did try mashing the cooked vegs etc with a potato masher... no good. Hence the question does anyone know of any decent and affordably priced blenders on the market? We
also prefer to stay on CL sites with no EHU btw just to make it more difficult!

Can't offer any suggestions Pat.  I carry a small hand blender (electric) in the van and am careful about what's switched on at any one time.

Would it be worth considering making your soups in batches at home, freezing them, and taking them in the caravan freezer box?  Just a thought. Happy

180w (less than most van TV's)

Really? How big is your TV?

Thanks for that thought. Yes I have considered this as an option and may well do it if all else fails. Having said that in the grand scheme of things it's not really the end of the world if I can't find anything.photo 78301b06-7bdd-45fe-8ae2-d4d2cae14135_zpssi5htrez.jpg

Not sure why you can't use a mains powered unit as they only use about 180w (less than most van TV's) but if it has to be cordless how about:

Brilliant why not fit a 2 stroke engine to the recoil mechanism an of you go.

I have a hand held blender and have used that off grid with inverter - I also found a manual one that goes up and down rather like an old fashioned spinning top.

    https://www.amazon.co.uk/s/?ie=UTF8&keywords=nova+multi+whisk&tag=mh0a9-21&index=aps&hvadid=8861240729&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&ref=pd_sl_6wunxxrakq_e

Quite useful but the hand held gets my vote.

Just to come in too late Pippah, We need a blender on our van as we have our Kefir everyday whizzed up with fruit and nuts and so we bought an electric hand blender from Asda- a George home- 600w. Runs through our inverter a treat and pulps everything I ask it to- apples. Pears. Dried figs banana, nuts of all descriptions. Soft fruit etc etc. Just a thought from another angle! (and if you don't know what Kefir is- do yourself and your gut a huge favour and find out!) See 'Do you want to live to 130' thread or look for Kefir on youtube

I do know what Kefir is - but I haven't managed to find any yet - I have been reading that one thing people with weight problems have in common is the percentage of bad gut flora - whereas the lucky people who can "eat anything and not gain weight" have
80% good gut bacteria.  I need to redress that balance!
