Thanks for the tip. We love to chill around 11.00 am with a good cup of 'proper' coffee.

We first tried a cafetiere, then we tried the coffee bags, then the little plastic filter cups. Now back with the cafetiere that for us seems to be the best option and we just empty the coffee grounds into the bin before washing the jug.

I also use a cafetiere when away but after trying every conservable way of making good coffee at home nothing beats the Nespresso machine I’ve got.

Unfortunately i didn't like the coffee bags but we did take the nespresso machine with us. Then i kept my eyes open for a good deal and bought one of the smaller models that we keep in the van. Yes i know the coffee is expensive but we do like it!

I only drink Coffee so like a nice mugful (Not a cup).
That really is the nub of the problem. Have tried several of the coffee machines using the little metalic coffee "tablets" that you insert into the machine, but they dont seem to be designed to deliver a mugful, - only a little Italian style cupful. No good
for me!At the moment quite happy with Kenco Columbian instant that does deliver a very nice mugful. But the coffee bags that you suggest are certainly worth a try.
If only the machines that claim to deliver a genuinely good coffee, did so in proper mug sized quantities I would have one!

...and it's lukewarm. My Son in law has one and, frankly, I'd sooner have a hot mug of instant.

Bags, powders, cartridges, etc all produce ersatz. I have a proper (small) espresso machine in the caravan and get delicious black coffee with great crema.
"Do you want steamed milk with that?"

Tigerfish, you do get different sizes of coffee with the nespresso machine. There's a push button on each side of the machine and you set them for how much water you want. My husband likes a mugful so uses the lungo pods and and one button. I like smaller
cups so use different pods and the other button! We're both happy.0 -
Yes you can adjust the quantity of water per shot on the capsule machines, but the amount of coffee in the cap just isn't up to a big shot. I use two capsules for a big mug, costs me a fortune ! A coffee marketeer's dream.
Could be hotter but okay if you preheat the mug with the steam. My biggest gripe is too much froth from ours, the in-laws similar machine is much better.
But still a tasty treat.

Have to admit we have a Nespresso machine in the caravan. We have a bean to cup machine at home but that is to big and heavy to take otherwise we would.
