Ploughman's Lunch
I seem to have volunteered myself to do a Ploughman's Lunch for 20 people this coming Tuesday
It needs to be fairly substantial .... not just bread. cheese and chutney
What would you say makes a good Ploughman's?

I thought a ploughman's was a hunk of bread, slab of cheese and chutney. I suppose these days you could add leaves, tomatoes, celery, radish and other salad ingredients. Scotch eggs and slices of gammon ought to make it substantial. How did you find yourself

I'm asked to do these things, I just can't say no (unless we're away in the caravan of course)0 -
Some homemade coleslaw would go well, especially if using some gammon.

Before I retired I was a Head Chef and our Ploughmans consisted of a piece of cheese with 1/4 of a pear, 1 slice of ham ( rolled up) 2 pickled onions, 1 boiled egg and about a tblsp of chutney or Branson type pickle plus 1/2 a baguette with butter. The homemade
