Does anyone else find the silly TV Comprtitions a bit annoying:

What name is given to the music that comes before an opera or overture?  A. Overture   B Underture  C Immature  An actual example just before the commercial break on Tipping Point.  I sometimes catch the end of Tipping Point as I like to watch the Chase,
that comes after it.

I wished they would get rid of these silly questions.

It would be more sensible to have a straightforward random draw from those who ring in.  I think they do the random draw thing with the X-Factor ring in competition.

Most questions on those downmarket quiz programmes are a complete insult to the viewer's intelligence.

University Challenge, Eggheads and Mastermind. are  much more intellectually challenging, entertaining and interesting.

....its a way of making loads of money!!!

    Same with the voting.

I heard that the production cost for the who;e of the Big Brother series were covered by the final shows voting calls alone!

I have read somewhere that the question is to make it a "competition" rather than a straight phone in which would fall foul of lottery/ gambling rules which require licensiing and have lots of restrictions on how the prizes are distributed

Yes, it's a question that 100% of the public should know the answer therefore thinking they have more than a better chance of winning, it must work or they would change the recipe so must be a lot of gullible people out there.
