Ed Balls and Robert Rinder were at the same skill level last night but if they are both in the danceoff, Ed will be voted out.

I must admit to finding Ed Balls more entertaining than Robert Rinder.  Ed has greatly improved during the competition.  Unlike Robert

Either Danny or Louise can win this competion, both are excellent dancers.

    Cheers .........K

Could someone please point out to Panda Eyes that if you're going to wear a skirt that short sitting with your knees together and your ankles a yard apart is not particularly attractive!  Surprised

I'd guess Judge Rinder and Ed for the dance off and whoever gets to dance off with Ed will win anyway.

Spot on Bill....... and Claudia and my pound lives on!

Now please can we have the double and get rid of Honey from X Factor - I think she's out stayed her welcome.

Double bonus yesterday - not only was Ed  finally dismissed, but even better, that spoilt, ungracious, arrogant Shamilton didn't win the F1 title - happy days

Oh, and Claudia W was particularly good I thought

Once again my predictions were spot on.  Ed is out.. Next week Robert Rinder should  again be in the Danceoff and this time will be booted off. ( Not before time )

That leaves only really good dancers to compete for the Glitter Ball Trophy.

    Cheers...............K

The great shame from all this is that Ed will have deduced that he is, after all, really popular with the public.......something that he always thought to be the case (to the extent that he commisioned a survey - no doubt at our expense - to try to establish
why he was so unpopular.......that was when he was a MP.......before he was voted out.

What he doesn't realise (or will refuse to accept) is that it's only a tiny percentage of the public who have nothing better to do with their lives that have voted. And even they found something better to do on Saturday.

Ore & Jo probably, sadly Robert will go because he is least popular with the judges, Ore is probably least popular with the public Undecided At
this stage it is down to popularity and choice of dance. Robert Rinder was rather good this week I thought and he does have a big following but why has he done the same kind of dance every week, very flamboyant and playing to his following !

I don't think the odd scores from the judges count for much , especially when millions vote by phone.

I don't think the odd scores from the judges count for much , especially when millions vote by phone.

Write your comments here...I have always assumed that the points allocated for position are added to points allocated in a similar way for the way the public vote.

If this is correct then whoever gets the most votes, in the case of 5 contestants, gets 5 points and the ones getting the least votes gets 1 point this means that someone finishing top with the judges and bottom with the public could end up in the dance
off with someone getting lowest with the judges and highest with the public. so judges points are equal in importance to the public opinion regardless of the number of votes cast, only the order in which the public vote.

    Is this correct?

That is correct, I was going to explain it earlier but had problems portraying it in simple terms

I certainly can't match that for in depth analysis! Wink

But I have a vague memory that the reason for this was that, a few series back, when it got down to 4or 5 couples, it was discovered that one couple couldn't possibly be saved by the public vote so they just scrapped the whole thing and let all the couples
stay. Doubtless someone will remember it more accurately.

Have to say that, although it doesn't matter greatly to me, I can't see the purpose of the public vote, except as a money making exercise. If it's supposed to be a dance competition, scrap it and leave it for the judges to decide, possibly until the final. Happy

Seen in the newspapers I read while in Tesco's waiting for my wife to complete the shopping today,  There is apparently a spoiler on the net, where the Ultimate winner of the Christmas Special has been anounced. The BBC is trying to have it removed.

I hope nobody post that news on here as it would spoil the last few weeks of the Dancing show for myself and many others.

    Cheers....................K

The right result imho, the judge did look a bit like a gorilla at times, entertaining, but not class. Ore was slightly more polished.

Think Ore will go next week in a dance off with Louise. How's that for a strictly spoiler?Wink....Cool

2008, Tom Chambers was in 3rd place after judges score, but joint leaders so couldn't in theory be saved. They let all three go through. He went on to win the series.
