Carry on Caravanning

Really enjoyed the programme last night, granted some of those shown may not be your typical caravaner.
Dan - the video guy- enthusiasm for caravaning is clear to see. If you look through YouTube you will find some very helpful and informative videos from him and his family. Well done to everyone who took part.

Last night we sat in our caravan (parked in the field next to the house). It was warm from the setting sun. We had a few drinks (we keep it stocked up), listened to music, talked, ate a few leftover chocolates. Then when it was almost too dark to make our
way back, went inside. We started to watch the caravan programme (recorded!), realised we were falling asleep so gave up and went to bed.Pretending to be on holiday was the best part of the evening for us.

I expected that they would search out some extreme examples to feature. How many folks do you know take ferrets to a site with the intention of catching rabbits for dinner. The couples preparing for halloween were ok but by the time we got to the large chap in his vest displaying numerous tattoos got stuck into his beer and then started to belch we sadly realised it did nothing to enhance my image of caravanning and switched off.

Just got in. About to watch what some of you have already seen!

I wouldn't bother Dave .....
I wished I hadn't bothered MM. It was a bit like watching paint dry!

Write your comments here...If you want to watch paint dry and find it more entertaining then watch All Aboard! The Country Bus. I've heard of slow TV but that was almost going backwards! We'd got a ticket to Ribbleshead but got off at Gunnesrside, half way

therewe had it on whilst messing on our I pads planning next trip, love Yorkshire and especially Hawes....waited in anticipation to see our favourite pub(s) etc and what happened...it panned to the driver and the inside of the bus for the entirety of Hawes...

I am so glad we watched it on 5+1 as it meant we did not miss the sitcoms on bbc 1 and got to bed earlier,do not think we will watch any more, a bit of great viewing for the Knockers,
I didn't see any knockers. I would have paid more attention had I known.

We watched it last night in horrified fascination; we have never come across any caravanners like these... But how would we know? We don't spend much time observing the antics of our site neighbours.
One thing that did make me wonder... Is there really a caravanning hierarchy, based on expense of outfit? And weren't that poor pair in their Bailey Unicorn being a little deluded about their place in it? A mid-range caravan at best...

MJ, yes there most certainly is, it's alive on CT.
I've seen many threads that have been used as a vehicle for some folk to go into fine detail of-cost/appliances even payload has been used as a weapon. The sneerers are among us0 -
judgemental squad alive and kicking on every cc site, watch them all the time walking round the site scrutinising everybodys outfit, as for those misfits with the bailey (am i allowed to say that) on carry on caravaning, so maddening wouldnt you just love
to bring them down a peg or two, certainly does not represent the type of campers i have met over the years amazing what you can do with cameras and a director, certainly puts caravaner of the year in a better light0 -
Yeah, but it's scripted, or at least guided and edited, and let's face it, any ordinary caravaner sitting in the awning with a glass of wine watching the sun go down while prodding a burger on the bbq makes dull TV!

Oh good God!!
I've just watched episode 2 on catch up. I know this show is tounge in cheek, scripted etc. but I can honestly say that I have NEVER come across other caravanners who carry on like this, the antics of Sunbed Jonny & friends, the 'Bailey crew' and the narrator
have left me cringing and angry. Thank god for the 2 Scottish ladies and couple with the vintage American caravan.Ok, thats my rant over

Write your comments here...You've never been to a CC weekend rally then . You'd be surprised and amazed at what goes on there.
There's nought wrong with the programme. It's about fun and laugher --- A concept alien to many members on this forum.

I saw the whole of the last episode. I thought it was a lot of fun and look forward to seeing the next one.

I watched the second half last night...it fits in between Gardeners World and the 10 o clock news....well, last night it was the nudist caravanners with a caravan graphic placed carefully over the dangly bits. I have one question, is Northumberland really
that warm?!0
