Very interesting programme, recognise the photos? no one on the bed of course! Filmed at Pils Rundales Palace, Latvia. We visited May 2013.

I thought it was very good, and putting it into 6 episodes is a smart move I think, not too short but not too epic either, I haven't read it for years either but remember it was very hard going, this is much better Laughing

I thought it looked good too, not quite so sure now I've started watching, but maybe cos I know I won't catch the end episodes until April, so I think I'll just record it and watch it in one go.  I do think 6 weeks should work, I've listened to the book
as I found reading it hard going, many many years ago.

This series has the makings of excellent entertainment if the first episode is anything to go by.  The acting was very professional and the scenes were well executed.

Looking forward to the next episode.

OH watched it and enjoyed it, I'll have to catch up on i player. It's not a book that ever appealed to me but this should be easier than a very long read.Smile

I have never actually made it past the first few chapters of the book....no sticking power here!  Laughing  The programme was spectacular,
I thought, but I had trouble getting to grips with so many different characters crammed into just an hour episode!   Time will tell!  Laughing
