I know it's just the celebrity version this week and they're appearing for charity but when one of the "specialist" subjects is "The Only Way Is Essex" I think we've reached the bottom of the barrel, haven't we? Laughing

We watch MM quite regularly, but the celebrity specials are shockingly poor. Try the University Challenge specials Moulesy, much more intelligence required!Happy

I was shocked TOWIE could be a subject, but then again so I was about other specialisms Osais etc.  Being a girl from Essex NOT an Essex girl I, like most others from this delightful county, cringe that Essex can be portrayed like this - bad enough as a
programme but something like Master Mind having it as a specialist subject horrifies me - people might think it is really how we are

I agree with takethedogalong Celebrity University Challenge still has questions it takes the programme to decipher
Embarassed  If you can remember the question!

On a boastful note I got 4, yes that's four, of the questions on Only Connect and some of the wall lines
Innocent  OH couldn't stop laughing and swears I'd watched a preview

Too late to edit I have never seen TOWIE just a glance at the show if flicking through is enough to make one feel ill.  Still it has made some people very rich

We enjoy Only Connect as well Bakers! Sometimes the wall connections are simple, once you get the red herrings out of the way, other times they are so hard we get nothing! Happy

Always try to watch UC and Only Connect, tda. Mind you, some of the "elder statesmen" on Christmas UC seem a bit dense at times! As for Only Connect, once I've managed to ignore that annoying woman I enjoy the challenge, but only occasionally spot the connections
    - more often I can't even understand them when she's explained the answers! Laughing

I think that all quiz programmes when doing a 'Celebrity' version dumb the questions down.....a) To prevent the 'Celebrities' looking too stupid and b) To raise a bit more money for their charities!  Laughing

OC is good once you get past Victoria Coren's inept warbling at the beginning. Agree that some of elders on UC take time to warm up! Very clever most of them, just not as quick on the draw!Happy

The first time I saw 'Towie' I thought it was quite good acting but a rather lack-lustre script - to put it mildly.  Then someone explained to me that it wasn't acting and it wasn't exactly scripted.  The whole thing went down even further in my estimation - I certainly couldn't watch it more than a few times.

My hats off to the celebrity who could have 'TOWIE' as their specialist subject.  It takes enough stamina to commit to watch it week in, week out, let alone remember all the drivel that goes on in between.  Laughing  Just my personal opinion, of course!!

...I am sure they do.   Only when it comes to the general knowledge I am amazed what some of them just don't know.....
