The Sound Of Music
Anyone watch it tonight. A live performance. It was in line with the original Rodgers and Hammerstein stage version rather than the classic film. I was quite impressed - only really spotted one error (a stray camera earlier on). Nice to hear the music not in the film.
I look forward to seeing the programme that explains how they did it. I thought they did really well with it.

I enjoyed it, but the ad breaks every 15 minutes were a bit intrusive.
One advantage of recording and watching later.

I have now watched the programme and found it very good. I have seen the film several times and also the stage show in London. Even been to a couple of the filming locations in Austria! I thought the cast was excellent and good to see performers who usually
don't do musical work. Mind you I did find myself thinking of Pointless everytime I saw Alexander Armstrong!!!Tonight there was a short programme about how they made it which some might enjoy seeing.

OH and myself went to see the film in Nottingham when it first came out 50 years ago. The TVs version on Sunday night was excellent, all the actors did well especially the children, very good could watch it over and over again, you cannot beat the music

Just spotted this post. I watched the programme as a result of 'channel flicking' before Christmas. I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed it even though the film is on TV so often it has become 'old hat'. Alexander Armstrong was very good I
thought.0
