Difficult day
Not the best of days, my best friend "Jigsaw" (my little JRT and my avatar) passed on following a visit from the vet.
Nearly 18, but just about blind, deaf and arthritic it seemed the time had come to think of her, not us, and not let her suffer. Very, very difficult decision.
The house is now empty and quiet.

Must be a truly awful time for you, and you have our deepest sympathy. 18 is a grand old age for a dog of any breed, a very long life which you must take some credit for. At times like this all you can do is treasure the memories and love. Kind regards.

Very sorry to hear of your loss, jigsaw. We've been there often enough ourselves; only fellow pet owners can now the depth of feelings involved when you lose a beloved companion. But you will know, in your heart of hearts, that you made the right decision.
Will be thinking of you.

Very sad jigsaw, I still "hear" my old pal " Dusty" around the house even though he's been gone for the last nine years.
It takes a long time to get over, but does get better

You have my thoughts for Jigsaw - I still "feel" some of my departed companions around the house at times and that was ages ago and I have two live and kicking best friends too. Horrid decisions indeed - I wonder how long the epileptic labrador will carry
on but she is still ok so far. I think the saddest thing is those who can't face getting a new companion because of the pain - to me the pleasure they give far outweighs the heartache. I may be pretty bonkers now but I am sure I would go right round the
bend without at least one dog to make me smile every day.0 -
Oh what sad news, our thoughts go out to you. I never had a dog until we had Scooby who is now 2 and could not now live without her! Thinking of you.

Sad to hear, we are sharing your pain as we have lost our dog to cancer after 12 years of love and happiness. As you say the house feels big and empty without her. We are having our first break next week in our van which we bought so we didn't have to leave
her.( she was the best travelled dog) she came everywhere with us !!! So next week will be strange not having to make sure the door is shut or watching spending hours on top of rabit holes waiting for a furry friend without luck... She is really missed but
with lots of joy and pleasure for the past 12 years...0 -
So sorry to hear your sad news. We had our lovely dog Poppy put to sleep six weeks ago, a difficult decision but the right one. Poppy was seventeen, a cross collie who had been with us since she was six months old. The house does feel empty but the memories
will always be with us.0 -
