Computer help?

Don't know if this is the place to ask, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere more suited.

My computer occasionally ( about 30 minute intervals) bursts into a sound only advert for child's car seat. No visuals, nothing I can see anywhere, Anti Virus is up to date and showing no bugs.

Can anyone suggest any route I can take?

If it is 'Malware' then your anti virus will not necessarily pick it up, I scan periodically with Malwarebytes, there is a free version to download <HERE> and will find
and eradicate any malware, adware etc.

Not an expert RedMick, but would clearing the cache do any good? Also, can you not stop popups in your settings, thats it, my knowledge of computers is now exhausted......Cool

Download & run Kaspersky's TDSSKILLER. You will most likely find a rootkit (Rootkit.Boot.Pihar.c). It is what keeps creating the fake svchost.exe file.

You most probably have Malware as previously advised.

Some can get deep into the registry.

    Some attack certain browsers.

I assume you are running a version of usoft windows .

Run your anti malware in safe mode  then power off completely (remove battery if a lap top)

    reboot and try again

does it do it  in one browser only?

    Hope this helps

If you have this problem others will too.  Do a google search and see if anyone has come up with a reason for it or a solution.
