What puzzles me is the people who tend to use the site facilities for washing up and showering, use the toilet in their vans for No. 2's.

No mystery  at all, we shower  and washup at the facilities to avoid spending our time transporting  water and struggling in a confined space, we use the toil. et for what it was designed  for whenever it is easier than visiting the provided toilets.

We j6st use the caravans facilities for everything. We tend not to pitch near the toilets so for us taking the washing and so on up to the sinks takes longer than fetching the water.

...also, those who use MH and have large tanks, are (effectively) on serviced pitches as they arent fetching water on a daily basis, so taking a couple of showers in the van makes little difference....Happy

I can understand that point HD but if that is the case why choose sites that have all the facilities in the first place?Undecided

Because those type of sites are nearer bus stops and shops and have a footpath my wife can use her mobility scooter on ,where as some of the CL's are a bit in the middle of no where, and no always so easy to walk from

Point taken HD but although I quoted your post I was referring to any members who have the same viewpoint.

By the way there are plenty of lovely CLs that have bus stops close by the entrance.Smile

I would think we fit into the 'what ever is convenient group' we do use all the facilities on board but we also use the site ones aswell. The shower can be used as a storage facility for the washing machine now, but if we need to use it for showering it only takes 2 seconds to lift it out. We've just been away for 2 weeks, in that time we have spent 4 nights on a basic CL, 3 nights on a full facility site and 7 nights on a canal boat. On the CL I did a full wash in the machine and we used the shower every day, being rebels we even used the toilet for no 2's Laughing

Oh and we don't use onesies or bathrobes, I have however been seen walking to the showers in my swimwear Wink

Obe big advantage of using all our caravan's facilities is that we can park as far away from the toilet block as possible, usually getting a less crowded pitch.
