Fresh water yes or no?

I've never read such twaddle about why a motorhomer shouldn't be allowed fresh water & empty tanks, from travellers to 'elf n safety and congestion while driving round the site.
Ao if it's twadle and there is a demand from folk happy to pay why are no entrepreneurs providing I wonder?
Could it be that it would not be profitable considering outlay? That is what I personally suspect

...but for a club that has already made the outlay?..
..and has an ever increasing number of MHers with a pent up demand....could be money for old rope

It would really only appeal to wild campers. If you were using sites why would their be a need to pay to empty loo and take on water. So when wild camping does one travel 25 miles to and from a site, pay for the privelege or simply empty and fill up ata public convenience free of charge in may cases?
I have no desire to have the club assist wild camping in the UK than the club has itself.

What outlay? The site already has a water supply .... the site wasn't being asked to dig up the local roads to supply a tap especially for the motorhome that dared ask for water

.... and then begrudge the few quid needed for a night on a Club Pitch....
The site was apparently full
Not talking about that as you probably realise. I am talking about the principle of a provision in general
I can see no problem at all ... esp in the circumstances originally described

Not in the least interested in this particular case. As I said I think that if somebody tried to book in and site wa\s full it would not be unreasonable to allow him to empty his loo depending on other factors which we know nothing of

The site this event occurred at was described as remote and far from any other. If it was Altnaharra CC site, which fits the bill, a MH arriving and collecting water from the one ordinary service point (no MHSP there) then leaving again would be very noticeable
on such a small site. Whilst it wouldn't bother most of us, you can bet that someone would complain to CC and drop the warden in it for breaching policy so the warden might have been exercising some self preservation tactics. Are CC members really that petty?

.... depending on other factors which we know nothing of
Like what?
Like factors we know nowt about. One side of a story, third hand from two years ago. I am for more interested in the clubs general policy in providing facility to those not using a site. It seems churlish that somebody, supposedly tries to check in but when he is unable to because the site is supposedly full the warden does not permit him to take his toilet cassete to an empty point or so we are told. There may have been good reason however but we shall never know.
We shall also never know if the tale is the figment of somebody imagination shall we?

Turning away any camper looking to use the MHSP just encourages the illegal emptying of waste and theft of water. Why is it in this country we are so good at exacerbating a situation into a problem then complaining about it.
But why should the CC be the provider for people who want to wild camp and not pay site fees. If you allowed MH next you would have large twin axle caravans towed by white vans! if it were put to a vote I would vote agin it

So DD the Caravan Club is doing the wrong thing by locking the doors to utility buildings. After all passers by might wish to wash some clothes or take a shower etc. Should they also put out signs saying wild campers welcome to use all facilities or would word spread without a sign being needed?
Maybe a sign on the office saying fresh towels available here.

Why this obsession with it would only be wild campers who want to use such a facility. I have already pointed out the inconvenience of service points at CLs, shows and rallies. Some may be usable without a great deal of effort, most are not so why not give members the opportunity to use a more convenient point if they are available?
It would cost the Club abosolutely nothing to offer this service and I just don't believe it will encourage wild camping.

So people use an alternative commercial site - at a show where they pay to camp but rather than have to fetch water and empty toilet cassettes involving a hundred yard walk they simply drive to their friendly neighborhood CC site and use the MVSP. I think
not. They are quite capable of using various containers (some made for the job) to take grey water and waste to an empty point as caravanners regularly do and return with fresh water.0 -
I'm guessing you are very fit person ET who has little compassion for the less able.

Far from fit Peedee with arthritis being a problem when fetching water etc. sadly. However I find that on CC site there is usually an even site road to assist with fetching and carrying the various fluids and that the aquarol and wastemaster (if not too
full make the task easier. If somebody cannot manage then they might have to rethink their venue perhaps0 -

I thought eveyone in the Club was equal. What your saying ET is that a member should be denied the opportunity of using many CLs and going to the National. It would be so easy for the Club to make MSPs facilities available. How much they would be used by members I have no idea but at least there is the opportunity there should it be required.

Shock horror. With the exception of the supply of fresh towels that is exactly what the C&CC do for a price.
Commercial decision for C&CC and they provide a facility for offsite motorhomers. The CC don't so if one wants this facility then the answer is obvious to me. Join the CCC.

The CCC charge £7.20 for up to 3 hours use of onsite facilities for MH's Nice little earner I would have thought.
A bit pricey just to use the MSP.

Use of MSP for water, CDP, showers washup and laundry I believe... Never used it myself as we always use sites. Pricey yes I agree.
