...The reason Broadway took so long was a "problem"with the roof of the old building (goods shed ) and who was to pay for rectification

Well, according to the site staff who were there at the time, it was a problem under the floor!

And why would anyone spend 2 years debating who was going to pay for repairs to a CC owned building?

Having dealt with building contractors all my working life, it was clear to me that someone was making themselves some extra work there.

And as BB says, the CC do not move quickly on anything.....20 years to change waste points to something that actually works, being a prime example.

...It was leased until bought by the club and there was a poor serveyers report that failed to pick up the defects the roof  was the main problem

Well, the site staff said it was a problem under the floor......evidenced by the open holes around the buildng for months. I tend to think that they would know better than you, with respect.

A poor surveyor's report wouldn't take responsibility away from the CC to repair its own buildings.

This is a site that, despite being patronised by a lot of m/h's does not have a proper waste emptyng point......despite having redevelpment carried out and work on one toilet block fairly recently.

Still, if they are trying to sell it.........?

Many people quote "insurance" or "elf and safety" to avoid doing something when in reality such clauses don't actually exist.

Refusing water to a paid up member who cannot get in because it's full up? Anyone would think this is not really a club but a multi million pound business.

Oh, it is a multi million pound busines so get your water somewhere else. Go away now we need to make some more moneySurprised

...I do not think any warden or manager or site owner would refuse anyone some water a watering can full should sufice,it's the cost of disposal of grey  And black waste that if required should be paid for

...Strange why you think like that JV, for me a charge for fresh water would make more sense as water can be bought from a shop if needed and no danger to the enviroment. However the unscrupulous ones will dump toilet waste and grey waste anywhere if they
are desperate. I know we are talking about UK but abroad its the water that you pay for and the dumping is free.

...I have been in contact today with a warden on a site that require a weekly honey wagon visit and was advised it works out at just over £12 per pitch per load

A poo lorry! As in, rolls up, sucks out your septic tank and bingo, you are ready to flow again! For places not connected to mains sewage drainage. Lots of CLs have them.

....and not a (WTD affected) warden required....

camper stops lend themselves well to this sort of 'self service' process....seems that caravanners need a 'warden' to check them in and to help them pitch to the pegWink

Not this caravanner BB. Some of us take our vans to quite a variety of places. That's what they are designed to do after all.

I appreciate the difficulties that service point design causes for motorhomers and I've backed the demand for improvements on many an occasion. Let's try to encourage harmony between the two groups rather than divides eh?

I have seen the wink by the way

now, whats got your goat today, Tinny....Undecided

no need to get personal and slip back into your Moderator mode...

seems Jay and I cant even have a little banter without you moderating....

it must be catching as your old mate M was doing a bit on the Cirencester thread...

i let that pass in that thread (form the sake of the anniverary couple....) but you guys really need to stop vetting others' posts.

Hey, BB, didn't you see the Wink

i must have detected traces of the old TW, there.....

so, please don't address me in the third person, to someone else....if you have something to say to me, have the decency to say it directly, rather than creep around with third person asides...Undecided

    thank you for your cooperation....

For goodness sake, BB, come down off your high horse. How many times have you done the same and not seen it as a problem? You've just talked about M in less than flattering tones In a post to me. Pot calling kettle methinks.

As for creeping around - joke of the year.Happy

I'm thinking the OP has had a ball with this thread. Thrown in a relatively hypothetical scenario, then sit back and watch and read all the huffing and puffing that it was bound to attract. I am quite sure that if someone rolled up late and there was no
room, then a member would get as much help as possible, without compromising the site security and causing a problem. But the whole scenario in reality must be relatively rare. What experienced MH, touring either here or abroad is so naive as to  not be aware
of water and waste management? Certainly not at Beechwood Grange either, a favourite haunt of the OP?
