Has anyone had experience of being pulled over and weighed on a journey ? If yes, was it the police ? how did they check ? and how long did it take ?

We tend to be very careful about loading, never been pulled over but curiosity has the better of me ?

Not me personally but it can happen.  The Police, possibly in conjunction with other agencies, do roadside checks looking at various issues.  You would be escorted to a weighbridge but I don't know how long it would take as it could depend on distance to
    weighbridge or other factors.

They all use axle weigh pads these days. One under each wheel of an axle gives a fairly accurate figure.

You can even buy a 'domestic' version for a reasonable price......can't remember the make but they advertised in the caravan press!

Interesting and relevant comments. The police are proactive in North Wales with regards to caravans, they have just recently had an operation on the main route into

Reich do one for about £100. Just tell it how many wheels, then run over it with each and press total. Then the shock

Champion Dave is your man, I believe he has been involved in road side caravan checks. Way back in the stories section you should find an article by him unless my memory is playing tricks.
