Change the name

Unless motorhomers feel under-represented, under-valued... then what's in a name? Except reputation of course (good or bad, depending if you're a
warden wordshipper or hater) and the cost of rebranding, re-signage which could be better spent on sites.0 -
This MHer doesn't care a jot, we don't advertise our membership, just happy to have nice sites and CLs to access!

As a motorhomer I can see where Badger Lee is coming from. Probably easier though for us motorhomers to go back to being motor caravanners. Interestingly, I have motor caravan insurance according to my policy schedule, not motorhome insurance!

I have just popped on to CT and being a nosy so and so came straight to this thread. The OP's memb. no. is still showing ! I agree with the members who who are worried about the cost. Re-branding never comes cheap, I am a member of two organisations which
have just done this and members are waiting to see how much our membership fees are going to increase ! KellysmumI hope the membership number has been Deleted User now (in the quote also).
Best wishes
David

The name as it is seems simple and near enough correct. Adding motorhome or similar would make the name unwieldy and I cannot see the benefit certainly not considering the costs involved.
If the CC does it then the C&CC would end up the Camping, Caravanning and Motorhoming Club which would certainly be ridiculous.

As a former motorhomer, I have no problem with the name of this club, nor the name of the CCC.
I think of the sites as either Camp Sites or Caravan Parks.

Interesting comments and to see the different opinions people hold. In some respects it is good to have these discussions to provoke thought afterall sometimes change does need to occur. It is quite revealing to see comments on other areas of this website
on the TV programme last night calling for change as it had done caravanners publicly no good on the image front. Maybe Badger (It is Mrs writing her thoughts now) does have a point! One quote from the programme was that it will be a caravanner who will win
as it is after all caravanner of the year!!!!!! There does appear to be a divide amongst leisure vehicle owners and that is certainly evident in some comments. In the grand scheme of things there's no need to get het up or even possibly rude! what is more
important is getting on out there and using your leisure vehicles ( we have owned tents, folding camper, caravans and motorhomes- therefore I would not class ourselves as typical motorhomers whatever that may be?!?!? Ultimately it's about a lifestyle and that's
what is important all of these vehicles each hold there own stories and adventures.0 -

Why change the name? The original caravaners lived in tents. The name caravan covers us all, motorised or otherwise,
Those original caravaners also travelled through hostile territories apparently, much like we do today it seems!

Were they led by camels?
