What if we leave the EU?

I'm trying to sell my place in Spain atm, so the swing in the exchange rate is good news. Views of the exchange rate fluctuations just depend on where you are standing at the time. It's uncertainty that the markets don't like so hold on to your hat as it
will be all over the place for a few months.0 -
Some have commented that it will make no difference if we come out - for many people this is true they will be undecided, unless, however, they have some interest directly with the EU, commerce, tourism or politics. We as caravan tourists have some interest
and we don't want to be considered "special" in the eyes of the locals not just the site operators and businesses but the people camped next to us. I never meet any Norwegions so I cannot compare how they feel treated by host countries when they are touring
but they don't ask for special status either. If nothing changes for us either way I don't care what the outcome is I will always Zig when they Zag as the saying goes.0 -
I can see no diference if we come out exept maybe for a short period when we may get some "negative" response from a few countries who would be jealouse, that we have done what they would really like to do,we have stood alone before, although that was before the rise of "its not my job brigade"

Anyone thinking of touring in the EU this year will have hopefully already got their money changed to euros BEFORE the announcement of the referendum date was made final.
A run on the pound was as predictable as the Sun coming up in the Morning. And as said it's going to be unsteady for quite a while yet.

We tend not to count our chickens in terms of whether we actually get abroad, certainly after the last couple of years of medical things!!! We usually have stash of euro's from the previous holiday so don't usually buy any until we get to Europe as that is often the cheapest way (with the right card) to buy euro's. The reality is that a lower value of sterling will only really start to bite if it goes below the €1.20 to the pound. Its possible that the value of sterling will steady over the next few weeks although any consistant opinion polls suggesting that the UK will vote to leave is likely to start a further slide no doubt.

Hi everyone, As you know we ask that political debate on the community is avoided as per the Community Guidelines and as such have had to remove some posts on this discussion. Please can you ensure the conversation does not turn into political debate and
as per the request of the OP, avoid discussion regarding pros and cons of EU membership as we will then have to close the discussion. Please can we keep the discussion on track regarding holidaying on the continent. Many thanks everyone for your understanding
and we appreciate you following and abiding by the guidelines we have in place to keep the community a friendly place to be.0 -

on how much cheaper France and particularly Spain are for them but then again my Parents found Norway expensive when we took our family VW camper there back in the mid sixties;not much change in that regard it seems. We all like sunshine and if our money goes
a bit further in the sun belt that is a bonus. However the £ has gone every which way since my wife and I first went to the Continent on two bikes with a tent in 1979 and we are still going over there in our MH this year regardless of ;£ up/down ,Brexit?Migrants?,Forest
Fires,Farmers' burning lamb,Truckers blocking the autoroutes,Heatwaves,Dockers Strikes, the birth of the Euro etc-seen them all over the years. It can be "interesting" at times and four hour waits at the Chunnel, like last year, are not fun but on balance the
ups of travelling to new places far outweigh the downs-we are only here for a look around in this life after all.0 -
As far as I can see for caravans being taken accross to France it will make little or no difference.
We still have border control and different currencies and the pound fluctuates now. The French and others will still want our money and we theirs when they come the other way so it is in no ones interests to rock the boat.

I would think the average Jonny Foreigner has never even heard of Brexit or Remain and as long as you're coughing up much needed income for him/her while you're on holiday then it won't make the slightest difference to them.

We got a really good exchange rate at the end of May which was a couple of months after the referendum was announce so that's the first prediction found wanting
