From a 5* Hotel in Europe then it's favourable in comparison, if I compared the traveller side of it then it would certainly be unfavourable CY, I wouldn't as I don't do the traveller thing-hope this helps your confusion old chapLaughingLaughing

I like it in Europe, I like it as a holiday destination with 5* accommodation. I can't compare the 2 unfavourably either way. I would if I tugged around it or drove around it for weeks/months on end in a mini-bus, it wouldn't be a holiday to me then. It'd
be a bind. Just same old same old. Scrabbling around in a dust bowl just ain't my style-I accept some like it, brave & foolhardy would be my take on it. It really does take all sortsHappy

Disparaging  others holidays and life styles with ill informed nonsense like "Scrabbing around in a dust bowl" (whatever scrabbing is ) or describing state of the art motor homes as "mini bus" adds a nothing to this discussion and  I would suggest you stick
to those subjects you know something about.

AD, I know not what scrabbing is, I do know what scrabbling is, so should you. I just wanted to be like you for a couple of posts, it won't continue I really don't like it. . . .EewwwwwWink

we are loking at going "over" next year ,and have been looking at sites ,some from their photograph appear to be a bit bare, but that may be the time of year the photo was taken, so we will be going with an open mind and when we come back i will give an
honest opinon of what i have seen in that small area that we have visited

the total cost of site, tunnel and fuel is more than a CC site of the same distance in the UK ,so we are not going because it is cheaper, but because we can..................

..... and because you choose to HD.At the end of the day, that's what it all comes down to ain't it? Personal choice and not wanting to inflict one's own choice on others. Happy

Good on you Husky and I hope you enjoy it. Laughing

It's good to see other countries however you choose to do it.  I toured much of Europe in a caravan as a child and they were good times but not something I want to do at the moment

Since you are very keen to keep on topic could you address the OP's question "what are the differences" rather than whether you fancy going or not

My mind must have wandered with laughing at your previous post David which was possibly the most hypocritical thing I've seen in all my time on CT.

The differences?  I'll leave that for the gospel according to Deleted User User and his acolytes
Since this is a subject of so little interest to you that you got it closed in one thread I rather wonder what your motives were when you followed it over to another
Just encouraging Husky.  Encouraging rather than lecturing.

Europe is of enormous interest to me and discussions in the correct place are open to everyone.  You must have twisted my words
again

I think there's only one person here with motives.

I thought you wanted this thread back on topic, David?

Bumped

To use for arguement on differences in price between F And UK sites, currently going on in UK section.

And what is your view on the subject Steve?

My view was just this was the appropriate place to debate the issue, not in the UK sites section.

However, I would also add I think comparisons are rather pointless. They may be similar products, but they are in different countries with different ways of working, rules, regulations, climate. Plus unless you are retired, like us, the costs of insurance, ferry, and auto route can easily erode any site price advantage. So it's just like here, you go to an area because you want to visit it, or the weather is likely to be better, not because you might save a bit on the sites.

T! Can you get decent tea on the Continent? That is a worthwhile comparison. Also, water quality for making of said Tea, very important. Crucial factor for my OH, he swears all water tastes foul with Yorkshire Tea, outside of Yorkshire!

Nah, most Yorkshire water is on soft side. But being clever Yorkshire Tea comes specially made for hard water as well!

I have lost touch with water qualities of countries on continent, not sure which are ok, which might be dodgy. Don't fancy Turkish though, I remember watching Midnight Express!Money Mouth

Nobody's knocking it Arty. We're all entitled to our choices. Just because something's not for me doesn't mean it's wrong.

The major differences other than the 'T' are

personal choice

personal circumstances

personal requirements

Its each individuals/couples/families choice and in no way is one better than the other....different yes but not better. Dogs can go to both too.

Discussion and conversation is good as long as its in the right place

No you cant  get decent tea but you can take it with you, tea for 3  months doesnt take up much room and I have never noticed any problem with the water .

Write your comments here...You could put the Tea in a waterproof bag in your empty Wastemaster.   Innocent  Jokeing AD.  Wink
