Can I empty clean water onto pitch?

It has taken me ages to read all 13 pages of this thread and I am quite shocked by the numbers who have said they dispose of clean water onto the pitch on sites.
I recall when we had the long threads about washing vans on site one of the things that came from the Club, via I think Rowena, was that they did not want you to put any water or other liquids on the pitch. Yes they meant none at all because some made
reference to the rain falling saying it would deposit more water than their bucket etc. So by those previous comments I can only surmise the Club would not want you dropping any of your water tanks on the pitches.Personally I have never let any of my water tanks drain onto the pitch, or the water heater store, I always take any clean water home with me and empty it there along with my cassette toilet. Any grey water is emptied at the MHSP and I definitely would
not drive home with taps open from any tank. Until reading this I thought that would have been the norm.I must add I have not seen anyone emptying their tanks on site pitches and I suspect if I did I would probably say I did not approve and ask them to take it to the water disposal points intended for such purpose, after all how would I even know what
type of water it was they were emptying on the pitch. Regards, Roy0 -

caravaners have been emptying their water heater/boiler water on to the pitch for as long as I can remember, there is no other easy way to do it. On grass pitches it should not be hot water.

With a motor van I take your point. However I am not sure there are any caravans with on board waste tanks. So any water running out from underneath a caravan is almost certainly going to be clean water.

I think you are right cornersteady but I seem to recall whilst she said you could wipe down only the parts for safety e.g. Windscreen etc you still must not get any of the water on the pitch. In other words an almost impossability & certainly you would not
be allowed to empty the bucket you were using on the pitch. That thread was very long & I think had many contradictions on what was permitted and not. Regards Roy0 -

yes I agree it did go backwards and forwards, it wasn't a full wash just wipe the front maybe? I only use HS pitches (I think I've only been on grass once) so usually the water drains down. If van manufactures put the drain tube closer to the side of the van I would collect it like I do easily with the toilet flush water, but its quite a way in under the caravan

I am at a bit of a loss understanding what the issue is here to be quite honest. We have both MH and caravan, and manage to gauge clean water usage for both quite easily. Most MHs have an onboard clean water tank gauge, so that shouldn't be rocket science
to work out what your average needs are, and fill up on last day accordingly. Same with an aqua roll, if you only fill up once every day, then surely don't fill to brim on last day, keeping water wastage to a minimum? As for not dropping a bit of fresh water
on a pitch, then someone needs to talk to the rainman! Agree waste water on Club pitches isn't good, but service points are close by, on a CL just ask if it's ok to pour onto hedgerows away from pitching area. It's not hard or difficult really. Club creates
a rod for its own back when pitches don't move, as they used to before pegs were so fixed in position. Unless you actually see it happen, and odds are you wont, most of us pitch up with no knowledge of what has gone on at the pitch we are occupying previously,
unless you have the nose of a sniffer dog, or like to inspect every blade of grass or pebble!0 -
I know it is not strictly the same thing, but it is related, in the past couple of days I have seen 2 people washing down cars and 1 doing the full monty soapy water washing of a caravan on Club sites, so perhaps the Club rules are not so well known, adhered
to or imposed? Regards, Roy0 -
one thing a uk grass pitch will not be short of is water.
in fact, its likely to be the other way round.
emptying a large barrel of water in one go over a grass pitch is not good manners and is nothing like rainfall...
dont do it.....please.
use the proper waste disposal points as provided. thanks.

I'm not trawling back through the threads .... but I'm sure a CL owner would love you for filling his sceptic tank with clean water, which then has to be paid for.
anks..Its the same on cc sites with ceptic tanks it costs over £260 per load to empty them a big bite out of small sites weekly income

sorry, i was referring to club sites.....
however, it shouldnt get to this as all will have guaged their water usage accurately......

so do i drain down boiler or travel with it having water in?
the onboard water tank is empty but i shall empty clean cold water from aquaroll into hedgerow ,all other waste into grey drain and down chemical disposal cheers mrs bc:)( second trip out and enjoying it)

i dont think folk travel with any water in a caravan......payload, balance, etc....
so, assuming you arent going to another site, on a cc site, try and run down the fresh on the last day (dont fill completely if not reqd), pour any excess fresh into the fresh drain and the hot from the boiler via the taps into your wastemaster (along with any grey already there) and dump in the grey waste point....then drain the last few drops from boiler and pipes...
nice and tidy, no water all over the place.....

I have never drained down the boiler until the end of season, does me no harm regarding weight/stability or anything else I can think off, but its your choice. Flush tank is run down but never emptied until end of season.
Waste water goes to appropriate emptying point.
Water in aquaroll is minimal as I have roughly calculated usage for leaving day and if short is topped up with a small container, if any is left then this goes into the hedge.
Then I mow the grass, re-seed where necessary and rake the hardstanding before leaving

Spot on, Dave.
Apart from the last sentence - I give the warden a hefty tip for doing that.

Depends on the caravan BB, some do have a decent payload.
We travel with the HW full, the flush tank at least half full, and usually 5+ litres in the onboard tank, with no stability problems at all as our van is well balanced, but this may not work for everyone.
Previous single axle van we always travelled with HW tank full, but that had no onboard tank or flush tank.
