Live music is the main reason that we go to big events like this so if the entertainment doesn't appeal there's no reason for us to go.

It does look good. I wish I'd gone as a day visitor a few years ago but I thought the pricing was a bit strong

Just to makes sure the right message is getting out there about EHU.

in the past The National has provided both EHU pitches and Non EHU pitches, but over the years more and more people have been booking EHU pitches which has made it more difficult to lay out the EHU pitches and then try to fit very few Non EHU pitches in amoungst the others.

it was decided that Sandringham 2017 would be all EHU pitches. There will be no Non EHU pitches at the 2017 National.

Hope that clears up any confusion. Bookings go live on 31st October 2016. Demand is expected to be high, so you are advised to book early to avoid disappointment.

So it looks as though the future of the Nationals will be all EHU!

Don't think we'll bother, just our luck to be near one of the huge generators. Sad

Write your comments here...I must admit the 6 amp output is a little restrictive but we thoroughly enjoyed it at Weston Park and we're looking forward to Sandringham particularly as we have never yet visited the Norfolk Broads.

Write your comments here...So this is why when I went to complete the advance booking form online it only showed electrical hook up pitches at a cost of  £95.00 .Was due to contact the Club Monday as I could not find non electric pitches.

Not sure, if this is correct, that I want to pay extra so something I do not really need.

Add in a couple of evening entertainments make this a very expensive 5 days.

Wow how much? We have solar power, as do lots of folks these days. Want to go if its possible but like Frozzie not sure I want to pay for something I don't really want. Is it a retro step these days??

That's how I feel too, lots of people near us last year were off ehu, we're quite happy with our solar panel. A retrograde, expensive step, leaning towards vans produced by the industry requiring too much power. It now sounds very expensive with all the
    other costs thrown in.

We would have difficulty managing without electric. Our mobile devices all charge on electric, the aircon needs electric too and so does the microwave.

I agree with you that it sounds expensive. We paid £95 for two at a festival last year. All activities and entertainment included in the price and the organisers don't have the sponsorship that the CC does.

The acts will have cost considerably more too.

Havjng said that the National sells out every year and everyone seems to enjoy it so it looks like the CC is meeting demand from those that go

I'm sure Sandringham will be a great attraction in itself if people haven't visited before.. Smile

Malcolm The whole of Norfolk is really interesting and well worth a visit. For the DCOS, Sandringham is really the Jewel in the crown. Lots of interest from vintage Royal Cars, the Shotgun collection & of course the House itself!

    Hope to see you there.

Couldn't agree with you more.   The expense of installing the infra structure for 6amp electric for  a couple of days is out of all proportion to the benefit.

I knew that all pitches for 2017 at Sandringham would have the provision of EHU but I assumed that it would still be optional.  Just not needed for 4 or 5 days away.

Very expensive trip if you go Friday night and want to attend all the entertainment but if it fills up good luck to the CC for organising and predicting that members want to spend that sort of money.

BUt essential for me to have a reliable & constant mains supply. At home I have even had to advise the electrical supplier of the equipment I use so that they can take measures in the event of a power cut.  Yuk!

But with respect there is a world of difference between catering for your needs and making it compulsory for everyone else.

I have to say it is a long time since we have paid less than £100 for a National WITHOUT EHU, so I'm not moaning about being given it included in a package price of £95, all daytime activities are free and its in the Queen's garden, no pleasing some people
    though is there Wink

TF I have a friend who uses a CPAP via an inverter and his battery and solar panel copes well off hook up.

I think you can get 12v power supplies for some of them as well

Alison having visited Sandringham in the last few years I'd agree that the venue certainly adds value Wink

If I want to go on Friday and attend all the entertainment then I have calculated my cost to be £265 assuming that I want to go to the Broadway Spectatular on Sunday evening rather than the 'Evening with Rebbecca Newman' which would cost another £114.  Well
done to the CC PR dept. predicting a sell out for the event as I assume that all profits go back into 'club' funds and so benefit all members.

the Evening with Rebecca Newman is not a Club event and includes a meal too doesn't it ? Can't blame the CC for the expense of that, and there is no way we would do every nights entertainment, personally I think that is a bit selfish as there is not room
for everyone to do that (if there was there would be no need to put on so many nights entertainment, just have one big night out for everyone instead)  As for the ehu, as we are likely to be out for up to two weeks even 6 amps will keep us ticking over as
we stagger back to our van to sleep each evening.

Booked & Paid!   Thought it a bit hard to have to pay  now, but I suppose the set up costs are high.

Would be good if CT members confirm that they are coming on here or on the sticky.

Hope you can meet up with some from CT, there was provision for a get together last year but It didn't work out. We recognised some fellow ralliers which was nice. My best wishes to Alison, sorry to hear your news (in another thread,) your views and help
on the National and other rallies have helped us join in and enjoy CC events. x

Write your comments here...Alison - Don't understand about it being selfish to attend all the entertainment laid on.  If it is just to cope with numbers how do we know which one needs the support ?

Take no notice of me Bill, if you want to do all the entertainment you go for it, as you say it works out a bit expensive but it is only money and I doubt many would do it anyway. Better they are fully booked to cover the cost. We rarely get to do any of
the evenings as we work at the National but this year I am hoping I can wangle a night off to do the Adele evening.

Thanks Brue for the good wishes, we have to wait till the beginning of December now for results and then we hope to confirm our place at Sandringham, fingers crossed !
