Motor mover recommendations please
Hi all, after 6 years of caravaning I am thinking of biting the bullet and getting a motormover fitted, I have read all kind of reviews and realised its a mine field there are good and bad on all of them out there, so I would like real reviews from club members to see if it will make things any clearer for me before I decide on which one to purchase, or is it look of the draw there are no guarantees, thanks in advance for any advice.
PS my van is a single axle with an mtplm of 1500kgs.

A good idea for sure. I have had movers from 2 different makers. The first was a Powrtouch which was troublesome from the start, however their after sales service was very good , they even swapped the mover for a new version. I then had a new van ( to replace
stolen van ) and had a Truma one fitted , this is the electric one , very easy to use , this as been fault free for 8+ years. So you can guess which one i would buy again.ps on the Powrtouch i had the cross bar fitted initially but when they replaced the mover i did not have it refitted and put each roller on individually ( i found that easier ) The electric actuator is well worth it in my opinion. Hope this is of use.

After a "few" years have still not found the need for a MM ,I can understand if kept at home and difficult access, we have had on our last few tow vehicles a front mounted hook (and they are not big 4x4s) which is there if needed, i have only used twice,both times on sites in Mainland Europe

We had a Reich on the previous van and a powertouch on the new one. I would be wary of getting one with electric actuation, if it fails 'on' you are b******d such that if the caravan battery runs out of puff when using it you are totally stuck. Depending
on the payload on your van you may also need to think about the weight of the mover itself.0 -
The Truma with elecrtric engagement can be used, if the actuator fails. there is a long allen key t bar wrench supplied. Regarding manual engagement the cross actuator bar as both advantages and disadvantages, it is more difficult to engage with the bar
fitted operating both rollers, the advantage is if you need to store the van close to a wall or fence you can put both rollers on from one side. Personally i would certainly go for elecric actuation but each to their own.ps saves the wife struggling to put the rollers on.

I had the new Powrtouch Evolution fitted to a Bailey Madrid single axle at around 1500kgs and it works really well. We had the previous model Powrtouch which worked well but not as good the new model. We have to manouvre the van on a slope at home so parking
is really easy. The electric actuation works well and they provide a manual handle to drive the rollers on and off if the battery packs up. I would never go back to pushing the van anywhere.0 -
Weve had a Reivh Ecoline fot 6 years now.
Had it taken off previous van and dealer fitted onto new van in 2014.
Had lots trouble after so called Reich who sent and engineer from B'ham to West Yorks to find the dealer had fitted 2 wires onto wrong terminals.
Sorted and no charge. Workrd well ever since. Our van has a MTPML of 1450 kgs.
We labelled each cable and marked corresponding terminal on power box.

Why would you say something like that when there is other members like myself reading the reviews to help them make their minds up.
