Leaking Isabella awning.
Hello all.
Currently away in my van and had a rain shower only to find my Isabella awning is leaking along the front seam stitching. The awning was bought in 2012 but I wouldn't say it's been used that much.
I have read that the use of aquatex is needed, but others reports I have read is about a seam sealant.
Should I reproof the canvas? Would this also.sort the stitching leak.
As always your thoughts and ideas would be much appreciated.
Kindest regards
Neil.

It might be because things have been so hot and dry and now the threads and fabric have got wet again the leak will not reoccur till an over dry situation reoccurs?
Write your comments here...thanks let's hope so but I feel that would be way too easy lol

As you are away and if its a problem there are loads of waterproofing sprays on the market that could temporarily sort you out? Find one that allegedly doesn't 'colour/dye' the fabric on use. A couple of forum postings recommend Fabsil.
Write your comments here...thanks for that Paul. I have a few cans of scotchgaurd in the van, but wanted to see if that's OK with isabella, I assume they will get back to me with advice tomorrow.
Do appreciate your input and ideas thank you.

It was certainly the way things were back in the days of cotton based fabrics and yarns though I know Isabella use synthetics. I would wait to see what happens now before venturing using anything at all that is not specifically recommended by Isabella.

Hello. All.
Had a email from isabella today. They will arrange collection on a convenient day of my choice once I return from my holiday to inspect my awning and repair as necessary.
This service is why I bought a Isabella awning.
Thought it only right to update the post.
Kindest regards
Neil
