Building a storage shed for a caravan.

Does anyone have any experience of building a shed suitable for a caravan? I keep our van on a farm which has worked ok for nearly 40 years, but had a break in last year, so it is now in a barn c/o farmer on temporary basis. I like being able to load and
unload in the dry!

I haven't built one for a caravan but have just built a very large workshop. I think one of the biggest problems is the height you will need would contravene what your allowed without planning permission in residential areas. The other problem is the cost
just so you can load/unload inside. Maybe a lean to car port would be cheaper if its at your house and have room at the side.

Have you thought of a prefabricated garage, I think they can be built to extra height, they made us an extra long narrow shed for work

I guess it all depends where you live - here on an abandoned moorland edge farm in Cornwall, where planning officers never visit, my sons and. I built an American style pole barn 30 years ago - Nine BT type poles, wooden rafters, and galvanised roofing sheets
    - and miraculously it's still standing.
