hi,

so to put it simply, we have the caravan stored connected to a hitch post and with the steadies down.

Would we be ok to get inside the caravan and move about whilst it is hitched or not?

i have heard of people going inside whilst it is attached to the car but obviously the cars towball has movement due to the cars suspension which the hitch post doesn't.

thanks for any help

...If you have the steadies down it should be no different to being pitched up

To make doubly sure why not wind the jockey wheel down.

    Hi JVB66,

but is there not the potential for damage to the chassis if steadies arent down exactly right?

do you mean to make sure the weight it on the jockey wheel and not the hitch post?

The hitch post will apply exactly the same forces to the A frame as if it were attached to a tow ball and you walking round in the van won't harm the chassis at all, especially with the steadies down.
