Mick, would you not help a busy warden by pointing out something to him which would help him do his job and make other people's stays more pleasant? Alternatively, you could shrug your shoulders at a safety hazard or polluted pitch which occurred due to rule breaking because it's not on your agenda.
Write your comments here...shrugging ones shoulders at a 'hazard / pollution' differs from helping a ''busy warden'.
Again, and IMHO, if I can be a good human being in my travels I will be. However, in context to this tread - will I be vigilant in identifying rule breaking and reporting it? In short no.

I am more than happy to help anyone who is in need. However I don't think policing the site in case someone is treading on the wrong piece of grass is helpful
...And that is why this wind up thread got "lost" as the "waste on pitch" post was the start of it getting stupid as a "mention to the staff and perpetrator "would posibly have saved a problem with the next user of the pitch,but from that point it just has got silly

Of course it doesn't make you a bad person, Mick. I think you've possibly musunderstood me slightly. I don't think the onus is on being vigilant and watching other members but on reporting relevant incidents, for the good of all, to the warden who is likely
busy and may not notice them. I'm pleased shoulder shrugging at the examples I gave wouldn't be part of your MO.0 -
I will help anyone who needs it or asks for it, as for anyone not adhering to rules, only my problem if it directly involves my stay, my peace, my holiday. Let the warden handle his site, I'm not interested.
...And going on what possibly is a for example,a poluted"stinky" pitch left by someone would not directy affect you?,because the person who noticed it just"shrugged their shoulders"

I too have very rarely, if ever, seen anyone commit such a 'heinous crime' against the rules which has warrented such drastic action as that suggested. Yes, it must very occasionally happen but I'll bet the occurance of such is extremely rare and obvious that, as such, is already dealt with appropriately, Some would have us believe that we are regularly witnessing an unrulely, anarchic antisocial behaviours. Happily, that's not my experience at all, I quite like my fellow members!

I agree seeing others seriously breaching the rules is very rare. There is nothing wrong with reporting these things if you feel you should but it depends on your temprement. As for wardens if they find serious breaches of rules then a report to HO is in
order. The club should deal with serious breaches if members do not take notice.0 -

Keeping a sense of proportion over what constitutes a hanging offence, complete with judge and jury, and what might be some innocent but poorly thought out behaviour is all that is required. Club Sites are usually bastions of good behaviour for 99% of time,
and the wise amongst us just get on with holidays unless something very serious occurs!0 -
The problem for me is catching folk in the act! My previous job taught me that it was only when 'miscreants' were caught red handed could effective action really be taken! There lies much of the problem, who witnesses it? Thankfully, being rare events, such actions are infrequently witnessed first hand by many of us!

...no, unfortunetly I was the one who folk reported such actions to, rather retrospectively I may add and I was expected to address the issues which were too often long gone and moment lost! And, of course, you always needed to hear both sides of the arguement to make any rational conclusion! Hen's teeth comes to mnd!

You prove my point it is misleading to lots of people. You could address a letter to Grimstead Towers and it would never get there. It is better to use the proper address which is:

They already do... I know of a group of people that were the cause of some complaints to site wardens, for excessive noise late at night. They each received a warning letter from H/O
Don't know the contents of the letter, but it definately came from H/O
