Should the wardens report members to H/O.

Come on JVB66 we are talking about Caravan Club sites not the Wild West.
I've only stayed on one site with a persistent annoying rule breaker who caused problems for others and she was easily old enough to know better
...And what did "others" do about it? or as usual bury their heads in the sand

To be honest, I can't remember any occasion when I saw an incident serious enough to warrant reporting anyway. But apparently some do! I can't really understand the concept of being so upset with something that I feel it needed dealing with but at the same
time washing my hands of any responsibility and saying "it's all down to the wardens". Even more so to come complaining on CT and think it's an effective way of getting something done.Life's too short to be honest but IF you're upset/offended enough by what other folk are doing, take a bit of personal responsibility and don't expect others to sort things out for you!

The warden sorted her out JVB. No need for anyone to do anything.
The systems are in place and the wardens do deal with problems as far as I've seen. Constant complaints from people grumbling about the slightest imaginary transgression is just a waste of everybody's time.
Society is not breaking down because somebody emptied an aquaroll on their pitch

What a hoot, ignore transgressors & you are berated for not caring & letting standards slip, march round to their pitch & you are
curtain twitching vigilantes. Follow close to the last person on the site & you are nosey & hemming them in, go to the opposite side & you're anti-social & aloof. Ee you LV'ers are worthy of your bad rep. Tip-stuff what others do. . . .Enjoy, remember that
sensation?0 -
I am playing spot the Daily Mail reader!

No JVB. Two aquarolls as well as the waste was mentioned. I can't see anything wrong with emptying clean water although two seems a bit much.
If people are going to start reporting about things like emptying clean water out then I really wonder whether sharing a site with other people is a sensible thing for them to do.
Did your gentle troll turn out as you hoped by the way Kennine? It's been a good one. Suggesting a system that already exists is a winner.

Thank you for your contributions to the thread folks.
It is not our responsibility to do any of those things, we are too busy enjoying our holiday.
A vigilant and dedicated warden team, backed up by robust action from H/O is what will stop any contraventions of the CC on-site rules and ensure that a holiday on their site is enjoyed by those who expect good site management to be an important part of
their stay.K
Write your comments here...I agree, it is not members responsibility or focus to police CC sites.

.So you would like a 24hr security presence driving round as the wardens cannot be everywhere

Perhaps a head on a sharpened stick at the entrance to the site "pour encourager les autres" accompanied by a single sign "Comply with the Rules".

I too agree......the wardens drive around on their tractor often enough......often trying not to see people doing things wrong (to avoid confrontation, presumably). Time to start doing the job.

How many of the posters who think its "not for me to do anything" have a neigbourhood watch in their area?

Of course I respect everyone's views; however, and in my humble opinion, I joined the club to enjoy holidaying and relaxation - not to police club rules.
I am in the "it's not for me to do anything" camp - with respect to protecting myself, family and in the spirit of being a good human being - yes there is a time to intervene.
However, being interested in other peoples actions and reporting rule breaking is not on my agenda when I go to a CC site - regardless to any membership of neighbourhood watch.
Of course each to their own....

I am more than happy to help anyone who is in need. However I don't think policing the site in case someone is treading on the wrong piece of grass is helpful
Write your comments here...I agree, and helping fellow campers is regular occurence, from what I have typically experienced.

Mick, would you not help a busy warden by pointing out something to him which would help him do his job and make other people's stays more pleasant? Alternatively, you could shrug your shoulders at a safety hazard or polluted pitch which occurred due to
rule breaking because it's not on your agenda.0 -
On Tewksbury site recently 31st March/2ndApril and had 2 adults throwing a frisbe on the road in front of my sister in laws caravan and my own, after it had hit her awning and even gone inside I asked them to stop, which they did after voicing their opinion
that it would not damage cars or caravans.Would you want to take the chance with £45000 of car and caravan? Is this the right example to set to children, they had 3 or 4 between them.I did not report matter to wardens as I did not want to cause any more unpleasantness.0 -

...And that is why this wind up thread got "lost" as the "waste on pitch" post was the start of it getting stupid as a "mention to the staff and perpetrator "would posibly have saved a problem with the next user of the pitch, but from that point it just has got silly
