Cancellation Anomaly
I had to cancel a reservation made for the 24th March. At 11.30 on the 21st I logged on and made the cancellation ie 72 hours + 30 minutes before arrival time. I have just looked at the cancellation email timed at 18.51 on the 21st which states I cancelled
within the 72 hour notice period which is incorrect. Has anyone else ever seen this happen? and is there any way I can prove the time I cancelled? I will contact HQ on Tuesday and explain the situation.

I wouldnt worry too much wedgy, so long as you don't cancel on a regular basis it won't make any difference. Bit of a time lapse about a lot of things to do with Club nowadays. I think there was some scheduled maintenance work on website due on that day
as well, this could be the problem.0 -
There appears to be a big time difference between the time you cancelled, 11.30am and the time of the confirmation cancellation email from the CC, at 18.51. Presumably that means either your cancellation email was delayed for some reason, or theirs was delayed. When I've had to cancel, I've always received the email from the CC within minutes. However, as they say you cancelled within the 72 hours, I suspect that your email reached them after the noon deadline, therefore meaning you did cancel within the 72 hours, even though when you sent it, it was (just) outside it.
Perhaps, if there is a next time that close to the 72 hour deadline it may be better to ring either HO, if it's a weekday, or the site direct. Even if there is nobody to answer on site, there is an answering machine where you can leave a message.
Edited to say that I wouldn't worry about it anyway, these are standard emails and if you don't cancel within 72 hours on a regular basis, it won't make any difference.

Those warnings are a touch worrying - I had to cancel due to family sickness and got a warning about it. But trying not to worry as it is about 12 months since I cancelled due to bad weather. As a matter of course I have used different reasons for cancellation
to try and make it ok! But I would much rather not have to cancel or postpone my bookings!0 -
Wedgy, a Yellow Card could br on the way, once Grimstead Towers get back to work tomorrow
