Not only which Club site but which site. This year only 23 percent of my UK nights away have been on Club sites.

Agree there. This year we've stayed only 11% of our nights on CC sites, out of a total of 259 away in the van in GB.

Out of around 150 nights away last/ this year, we used CC Club Sites a total of 7 nights. Six in the quiet cheap season, plus a freebie at Teesdale Barnard Castle for one night. Rest were CLs or private sites.

35% for me on CC sites. Only 15% the year before. The highest was three years ago at 53% which was mostly when touring Scotland that year.

We've been staying continuously on club sites since 9th June so that would mean about 50 per cent of this year on caravan club sites.

Don't really keep track, but how many nights we stay on CC sites depends on how many site night/gift vouchers we have to use.

we did around 33 weeks in 2015 (still on site now for NY) so 230 odd nights.....
dont keep a specific record as we dont (generally) book, so no diary to refer back to.
however, out of all the different choices of site we made over the year, i suspect the CC came last, behind CCC, CL/CS, THS, commercial, foreign sites and aires.....not necessarily in that order...
each type of site has its pro and cons, i do like the CC booking system (but dont agree with its cancellation policy), CCC system is clunkier but agree with their deposits policy.
IMHO, neither club is 'better' each has good and not-so-good points, sites are pretty much similar, anyway its more about the location than how much time the warden spends cleaning the showers.....

Having just joined the C&CC for the purpose of getting their home insurance, we hope to sample a few of their sites in 2016. There are some areas where CC sites are very thin on the ground, so being C7CC members will give us additional options.
This year we have only managed 36 nights away, all on CC sites, due to illness, but in 2016 we plan at least 8 weeks abroad plus at least 6 weeks in UK.

We are not yet members of the C&CC up until now we have not found the need to join but that's not to say in the future we might. This year we have been away for a total of 163 nights, 40 on CC, 15 on Cl's, 4 on commercial, 44 in France and 60 in Spain. This
is the most time we have spent away in the van, we've also had a few fly holidays. Next year will be a little differant as we are not planning to take the van overseas twice like we have in the last 4 years, so might look at C&CC, I take it the membership

Correct TG; you can also choose between 2 types of membership: one where you get the monthly magazine and sites book, think it's £43, and the other is where you access the magazine and sites details on line, so no magazine and no book, That's £37, so a
small saving.A tip: if you're thinking of joining and you also happen to go to a caravan show, like the NEC, join there; we did last year at the February NEC, and we received 2 free sites night vouchers, which paid for this year's membership!

I joined the C&CC as we Usally to Black Knowl in November ,but as the CC is closing it early we are trying the C&CC setthorns site , it also gives us more choice and I like the fact you can choose the type of pitch surface you want .

Between March and June this year we stayed on two CSs one in Chipping Sodbury and one at Charmill Cottage next to the Findon cricket club ground. We also stayed at the CCC site at Slindon. So we've made use of our membership of both clubs.

Setthorns is a terific site. We've just got back from 9 nights over Christmas there. IMHO it is worth paying the extra £2.50/night for the 'Select' pitches ..... but the regular 'premium' (with EHU) pitches are also fine. If you don't need EHU, plenty of very nice standard pitches at excellent price.

hi Vic , thanks for the feed back , what's the TV reception like ?we usally take a sky dish ,or is there TV points on the EHU?
It is too long since I last went to recall how good the TV was. However if using the pitches on the higher pieces, and the very short distance to the powerful transmitter at Rowridge [IOW] it should be excellent. The bearing needed is 127 degrees and Rowridge transmits both vertical and horizontally polerised signals. IMO by far the better pitches are those on the higher ground which can be found on both sides of the railway valley. It is operated by the C&CC's Forest Camping wing and we used to get a discount as C&CC members, though I don't know how it works now.
The Tea cakes at Holmsley Railway Station cafe were the local treat. A decent walk in dry weather.
If you like that site, and no reason not to, you should love Aldridge Hill but has no EHUs.

Of the 174 nights camping last year 36 were on CC sites, 3 on CC rally, 17 on C&CC Sites, 72 on C&CC meets and Temporary Holiday Sites and 46 on commercial sites and shows. The full facility
sites were at the beginning and end of the season and the THSs in the expensive high season.

Membership of CC is just £48 pa.
Membership of C&CC is from £37 pa.
Write your comments here...Exactly, rogher. Which means membership of both clubs will come to a grand total £85 per annum. That's enough to make people consider whether they need membership of both clubs or whether they would prefer to effect savings by just having one club membership! If I had to choose, I would prefer the Caravan Club.

I did ask before, does anyone now what proportion of C&CC members have taken up the reduced online membership option? We didn't as it was only, I think, a fiver a year difference, but if both clubs did we might consider it - we never read the magazines for
more than a few mnutes, other advantages of membership are much more imortant.0
