Hi all,

In the new year (17) I will have to choose a sturdy vehicle to tow possibly 3000+klgs of trailer and because the neccessary engine size will be thirsty I wonder if anyone has had a Nissan which was converted to dual fuel & was it a suitable conversion, (Now
because I am going to be new to this experience as I am to the CC I expect that perhaps fellow members may roll their eyes and say I should get out more)Embarassed

Hi Tony, I suspect that you will need to give alot more information before anyone is able to give you constructive advice because yours are an unusual set of circumstances.

    SmileSmileHi Settermum,

Thanks for your comment, but I'm uncertain what other information would effect the answer.  I know that the 2.5L  Diesel Nissan can comfortably pull 3000kls, but I wonder if having fuel gas as an alternative reduces performance, and  in whixh case the usual
economy gained makes it not worthwhile. I  also .notice plenty of vehicles filling up with Gas locally so it is I think money saving, and I'd always trust a users opinion against a garage which sells the £1500 (?) conversion.

As I understand it there is a drop in power of around 5% when a new car is converted to run on LPG. On older cars this can go up to 10%. But as gas is around half the cost of petrol there is a saving to be had if you do enough miles. But I don't think I
would want to tow 3000kgs with a petrol vehicle of 2T ish  with only 2.5L. I think it would be a little under powered.

A friends navara has just done a chasing ok it was a but older but the photos He showed me were bad.

He showed me the nissan navara snapped chassis page on facebook, There were over 8000 members.

Sorry about the spelling I have just noticed the auto correct has changed the word chassis to chasing.

Have a search on Google apparantley it is a bad problem.
