We ordered a new XC60 D5 on the 12th June with a promised arrival by the beginning of September, ie 10/11 wks. Having a tracking number I checked progress today and it's now saying deliverly will be between the 3rd & 17th October, another 10 wks at least
from now. I find this unacceptable, but wonder if it is normal practice?

Bad news, Nellie. They must be taking hints from caravan manufacturers. Probably your fault for telling them you'll be using it for towing!Happy

Will this mean that you won't be faced with dilemma of running it in?

Ps Hope your current trip going well.

This trip is fine, although we're on another CL with more than 5 vans on, again!!

Will phone Dealer tomorrow to make complaint, and see what he has to say. Might be bought off with a few free extras!!Wink

My last car, a BMW 520, arrived on the date the dealer stated, unfortunately they had put a manual gearbox in and not the automatic gearbox I ordered. I had to wait another 3 months for the correct spec car to arrive. Can’t fault the dealer, they lent me
an 18 month old X5 with a towbar until my car was delivered.

Dealer could be over optimistic so as not to lose a sale or factory not being truthful with the dealer, take your pick.

If you don't like the delivery situation buy something else?

If you actually believe what dealers tell you, you shouldn't tell everybody!SurprisedHappy

How did you manage about insurance on the loan car?

Wonder why ours is taking 4 moths to come then. Phoned dealer today but sale's manager I'm dealing with won't be back till Thursday. Will see what he has to say then.

Covered by the dealers insurance, just like a curtesy car would be.

Very good service........but did the X5 spoil you a bit, by the time the 520 came?

My Volvo v70 arrived on time earlier this year. Mind you they have stopped producing on the v70 with the replacement v90 not ready till September!

Spoke to the dealer today and they've agreed that should the car not arrive till October they will hold on to it till we get back from our Autumn trip in November, and the agreed part-exchange value for my car will not change regardless of the additional
milage we should do. Progress at least.

I have just cancelled my V90 order which I started last week as the dealer told me September /October because it was already on order for the garage and only needed a few spec changes. They then tell me it is going to be at least Feb/March next year. That is just too long and I would be expected to take less for my part ex as well. Shame.
