Explanation of a few motoring terms.

There are often threads concerning the understanding of technical terms relating to towcars.  I came across this explanation of 4 common motoring terms:

1 - UNDERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the front of the car.

2 - OVERSTEER is when you hit the wall with the back of the car.

3 - HORSEPOWER is how fast you hit the wall.

4 - TORQUE is how far you take the wall with you.

    From my time in the motor trade, these were terms used by traders:

    Bidet - rear wash/wipe

    Optrex - headlamp washers

    Catflap - sunroof

    colour in its checks - it was taxed

    'Experienced' tyres usually meant they were bald!

    Reminds me of an American motorsport commentator explaining US terms to the European viewers:

    "Push is when you can see the accident coming and Loose is when you cain't"
