Having looked on several manufacturers' websites, OH has found quite a few possibilities with very similar layouts and weights, but a very large variation in price when comparing new prices.

Presumably the price reflects the equipment level and the quality of the build?  So you get what you pay for.

We are not necessarily  looking for luxury, but do not want to go too "cheap and cheerful", and would want a reliable vehicle.  Are there any makes which in that case are best avoided?

Write your comments here...Base vehicle is likely to be a Fiat or Peugot so both built in same factory and just as reliable as each other as far as I know.

My preference is to avoid UK makes due to past issues with UK caravans and their QC which seems non existant but others will differ.  Main thing is getting the layout you want in the price you can pay and weight in your case. Euro vans probably less equipment
but better thought out and better quality, ask what you really want.  However saying that ours came with Oyster Sat TV, it waas not on out list of must or nice to haves but having now had it it would be on the must haves in future!!

Don't consider buying without having a really good look around lots of makes Knjell. We went with an open mind regarding both UK and overseas makes, but it quickly became apparent which had the quality feel and robust fittings. We were by no means impressed
by all the overseas makes either. We did see one MH that was a tad different, think it was British, might have been a Swift, had a fully opening rear tailgate, which sort of appealed to us as we love being outdoors.

Write your comments here...Then read SWIFT talk and other forums to see all the problems people have had with them... not saying you wont get issues with all makes even top range like carthago, hymer etc. (even my knaus has a couple of issues) but at least you will be able to use it.

remember the common itmes (toilets, fridge, cooker etc) will be dometic or thetford its the drawers, doors etc. where the quality will show, soft close, proper runners.

Some seriously rich people on this forum! – I very much doubt that !!!

The ‘Seriously Rich’ list amongst their hobbies, buying Football Clubs and the purchase of grossly over payed Players, whilst cruising in the Caribbean on their Yachts (yes I do mean plural).

Not sharing a field, even if it does have some tarmac roads and a toilet block, with the hoi polloi in our, what we consider expensive Motor Homes and Caravans.
