We have an E562 and both vehicle and leisure batteries charge whilst the engine is running. It's rather an expensive way of doing it though.

that was going to be my question.....why?
it actually takes quote a while to add amps back into a battery from an alternator...but a couple hours drive to site usually does the trick....bit you dont want to be running your engine on site for this length of time....or at all, really....
however, if youre wondering how to keep the leisure battery up on a site with no ehu then a solar panel is the way to go.

When we had the M/home we found that a trip to the supermarket and or the local tourist attractions every couple of days was enough to keep the leisure batteries topped up. Even staying for a week at a C&CC holiday rally in the Lake District was absolutely no problem.
The seceret is to use the motorhome for what it is meant for ----- Touring. . ----. Best not to emulate a Caravan and never leave site for days on end. IMO

Write your comments here...We have booked our new MH ionto Vanbitz at Taunton to get solar and alarm fitted they have a good reputation and are M/H's themselves, also thinking about a single Gaslow Bottle with Calor backup. If you join Motorhomefun you
also get a 10% discount!!0 -

like you propose, we have just one 11kg Gaslow, which serves us fine...our second locker slot/ hose is currently free and, like you, can accommodate a spare bottle....possibly calor in the uk but also a french or spanish bottle when 'away'....

I have just been looking at this subject and replies and would point out that it is not a crime NOT to use your caravan or motorhome. Does it not occur to some people who make derogatory comments that some of us still work and/or have other commitments
as well so we can't get away as often as other people do or as often as we would like?0 -

Where are the derogatory comments in this thread?

When you are looking to fit a solar panel consider the weight. Flexible panels weight much less than conventional ones. They do need to be stuck permanently to the roof. The thread on non 240v usage is very helpful. Can't remember the full thread name.
Perhaps a mod can put in the directions?0
