Wellsbridge excellent but you need to be very hard on price.

Simpsons also very good as already suggested.

I think the same should be said about price and Simpsons, but didn’t say that as I was addressing their handover. Maybe discount generosity is a Norfolk thing?

We bought a motorhome from Simpsons in November and we found them to be excellent, and I can be difficult to please!

Which van are you looking at? The Chauson 'drop down' looks interesting. One model is reviewed in the latest MMM.

Hi All Thanks for the reply, we been keeping a eye out for a AutoSleeper and Autotrail and Bessacarr all 2 berth, just us two and the dog, is this true that you have to change the cambelt and the tyres every 5 years? Thanks Elsa

    Hi

Yes it is recommended that you change the tyres on the motorhome every 5 years the same applies to the cambelt. With regard to the cambelt in a motorhome even if it hasn't done the required mileage within the 5 years it is still suggested that you change it within that time as it may age and fatigue over time. We are getting 2 new tyres and the cambelt changed on our Autotrail next month when it is in for its annual service.

    Hope this helps

Hi Franic,, Thank for that, Can't see why they can't fit a metal cambelt chain, how much is the cost of cambelt to be fitted and the price of the tyres, as I do not know, Thanks Elsa

    hi

I'm not sure how much the cambelt change is going to cost as I have never had to do it before but as the one in the van is currently 5 years old I would rather be safe than sorry and get it changed. The tyres I get for the motorhome are Michelin Agilis Camping
tyres and they normally cost in the region of £130 each. I replaced the rear tyres last year so only the front ones to do this year

I'm not aware that motorhome tyres need replacing after 5 years. Michelin told me they'd last over 7 years but after 5 years should be inspected annually. I did replace them just after 7 years even though the local ATS [owned by Michelin] said they were
good for another year. With motorhomes, its cracks etc in the sidewall rather than tread wear that creates the need to replace.

Hi Rayjsj, Few people said to us that Simpson of Great Yarmouth was the best dealer around and they won't rip you off, like few other do, But you came a long way from home for your motorhome, so you must be happy with your motorhome,

Thanks every one for your reply, Elsa

    Hi

We bought our first motorhome from Wellsbridge back in 2002. It was alocal place for me, having lived in Cambs.I remember having a good haggle with Harry the manager, it was a hard bargain! Their workshop is a 10 minute drive away in Pondersbridge and they
were nice lads in there. The handover I remember was very thourough. They used to have a bit of a campsite behind the showroom where you could overnight, don't know if that's still the case as I don't live in the area now.Hope this helps a bit.

Simpsons were friendly when we were looking , also in the area are Becks motorhomes just up the coast. They're a Burstner dealer but also hold a good used stock.

We have a 2 berth Auto Trail Tracker EKS and find it works well for us, well we get abut 26 weeks over the channel each year plus some weeks in the UK so long as your dog is not a Great dane you will be fine in a under 6M van.The dealer should change the
cam belt look at the tyres for side wall cracks but if unsure change them, cost using Black Circle for the Tesco point towards ferry fees are about £100 per tyre. Make sure you get out and us it and have fun...
