Sulking Powrtouch
I have a secondhand 868B Powrtouch electronics system with rollers with remote actuation.
I have fitted the system to the caravan as per the instructions (even ensuring I have the A1+, A2+ etc., correctly connected!) I know that's a common error!
Battery volts are good and there are no LED signals other than I would expect (e.g. Green Steady on the controller)
The controller and handset are linked by a cable with 3.5 stereo jacks (I was told when I bought it, the unit would communicate remotely). I did see the unit demonstrated, so I know the motors and actuators all work from the handset to the controller.
The handset powers up as stated (LEDs flash as expected, when requesting the actuators to move, the sequence (on the handset is correct), however there appears to be no communication between the handset and main controller as the actuators don't move,
nor do the rollers turn when any button is pressed.
Having read through the installation/user instructions, I wonder if there is a problem with the cable? If I take the battery out of the handset I'm assuming it should get power from the controller, so is that a test to see if there is a hardware communications
plroblem?
Aside from that,
Does anybody have any suggestions please?
This is a surprise Christmas present for my daughter. (certainly will be a surprise when it doesn't work!)
Cheers
Peter

Thank you for all the suggestions. I know it used to work! I have checked the battery voltage at the battery and at the controller and both are OK.
It seems the handset is just not talking to the controller. I'll call Powrtouch in the morning.

I had an e-mail from Powrtouch today and I agree, they are very helpful. The wanted me to be at the caravan, which was difficult as it was 15 minutes away, so we did it by e-mail and he suggested a way to re-map the handset.
Well on the 4th or 5th attempt it mapped and I was able to motor the rollers in. Then it de-mapped (is that a word) and I had to turn the power off, wait a while, turn it back on again and after a few attempts re-mapped and I could motor the rollers back
(phew!)So it can work when it wants to - not sure what's causing the unreliability though! See what Powrtouch think tomorrow!
Cheers
