Draining on board reserve water tank under bed
I am draining down the caravan for the predicted "Coldest winter for 500 years" Quote Daily Mail
LOL
Anyway I have lowered the caravan right down on its nose to allow water to flow in the direction of the drain pipe from the onboard reserve water tank under the bed but it still has about an inch of water in it that simply cannot flow out as the drain pipe
is about an inch above the bottom of the tank.
There is an access hole on the top of it that allows limited access to the inside of the tank and I could probably start shoving cloths in to absorb water and then repeatedly ring them out and then I thought......
I know there must be a better way to do this .....those clever chaps on the CC forum will have all sorts of mad and novel ways of dealing with this conundrum.
So I could deploy the silly time consuming messy method of absorption through cloths or I could do what???????
Looking forward to the suggestions

You could suck it out with a wet and dry vacuum cleaner.

I think you may not be looking at the drain connection at all.

My previous van had an onboard tank that drained from outside, but there was no inside access hole, so I never had any idea how much, if any, water was left in it. It never came to any harm, probably because if the remaining water did freeze it was able
to expand easily in such a large volume as the tank. Its more important to clear the boiler, water lines, taps, pumps and filters, since water may be trapped in a confined space. There are devices you can buy for vans that utilse a tyre pump to blow out any water that remains after opening the drain tap(s)
