I want to fit a USB charger to our caravan and the easiest way would seem to be to tap into the supply to the 12v/ TV antenna socket. This is a silver & black socket which shares a black surround/back box with a 240v power point.

There are no visible screws or other fittings, so before I go down the brute force route, with associated unintended consequences, can anyone tell me how to get the back box out so I can tap into the wiring?

The nearby 12v switch panel has no shortage of +12v wires, but the only earth return is way too small.

Thanks

Why not replace  a 240 volt socket with built in usb sockets probably pick up for about 10 pounds.

The surround/bezel around the sockets come off to reveal fixing screws.

Treat it carefully you may well find it is brittle, start with a very small electricians screwdriver.

First I have to get the damn things out... Also, There are two power points, a TV point and switches for the mains water heater and heating all matching and in a style I've never seen before. The boss would not be impressed if they don't match afterwards...

Ah, it's the silver bit that's the bezel that unclips. Fortunately, I discovered that before getting to rough with the black bit :)

    Thanks
