were you on one site all the time, or does this happen on every site you visited?

The last couple of weeks have seen quite high humidity which can cause interference with the signal. If you were in a weak signal area then this could have been the cause of the signal coming and going. One of the dawbacks of digital TV is that a small deteriation
in signal strength will make it unwatchable, in the old days of analogue it just went a bit fuzzy.

But that is a very similar story to the problem that i have with reception in my 2014 Coachman Pastiche.  This model has a new "Stick" type aerial on the roof and its about as much good as a Chocolate tea pot.

It starts with a lovely picture but after a while it starts to pixelate and gradually gets worse as time wears on.

It is especially susceptible to my iphone 5s using O2.  I have to remember not only to switch the phone off, but also to power it down before we want to watch anything.  It is affected by all phone activity, even just receiving txt messages.  Yet my wife's
exactly similar phone, but using EE rather than O2 has no adverse effect!

IMHO these new stick aerials are totally useless!

It is possible the iphone is making radio transmission on frequencies that it should not.   Can you swap SIMs and see if that makes a difference?

Curious that your 2014 Coachman has a stick aerial because our 'new' 2013 Coachman has a normal Status aerial with an inbuilt signal finder  Undecided

Write your comments here...Perhaps for the 2014 seasopn they upgraded from status aerial to the avtex one used in 2013 models?

...I know that a new one is now fitted with a proper aerial because I asked at the caravan show in Manchester earlier this year.

We have one of these on our M/H and find it to be the best aerial that we've ever had, just switch it on give it a twist (sometimes) and as soon as the light changes up pops the picture, at Bury we didn't even have to extend the pole.

Armourer, you didn't say which type of aerial you have. If it is a non-directional one then the solution is probably to replace it with a directional one. You can get a number of different apps for your phone that will tell you in which direction to point
    it.

This has been the main problem with the Avtex aerial you can get two caravans side by side one with a good picture one with none. It all has something to do with phone signals and how the aerial was installed in the first place.

But the o.p. Says it is the omnidirectional, I would be looking at getting in touch with Status, they will diagnose the problem which may involve replacement because it sounds to me like the amplifier is faulty........Peter

Other than replacing the aerial there is probably little that you can do then.
