Fitting the Alco wheel lock
I have a dilemma when levelling my caravan then having to fit my Alco wheel lock. To line up the bolt hole I have to move the caravan again thus loosing my level. Does anyone out there have experience of this and can give me the advice needed.

Trolley jack. Works on twin axle as well. Good for tow car. Lidl/Aldi <£30.

Roger - like many others on here, I use a Lock 'n Level air bag.
I have a TA and need it to fit two Alko wheel locks but the single axle version works just as well. Drive onto the air bag - line up the wheel lock and insert lock - inflate air bag until 'van is level - job done.

A bit on the heavy side and takes up too much room

Alco = 8lbs, 21.5", lifts only Alco chassis things, and only at jacking point. Other uses = collect dust, anchor (small) boat.
Lidl = 17lbs, 18.5", lifts any vehicle at many different points. Other uses = shift garden hut, extract child head from railings, remove gate from hinges, etc!
And as trolley jack is there anyway for Land Rover I save on the extra weight of Alco jack.

We don't find it much different to levelling up before we had an Alko. Check side to side level while still hitched to car, place levelling ramp in front of wheel on side that needs raising, and pull forward on to it while other half watches for when lock
is in right position and gives a hand signal to indicate(!). Don't see the need for additional equipment unless solo touring. A bit of practice is all that is needed. (While other caravanners are watching of course...)0
