Hi, 

Can anyone recommend the best way to remove old stickers and the residue from the outside of the caravan without damaging the surface.

    Write your comments here...Warm surface with hairdryer and gently remove from corner very slowly whilst still heating revealed area with hair drier as you go.. If any gum left try a good quality sticky stuff remover liquid.

    WD40 is good at removing labels and residue.

    We had numerous stickers all over our new cv including on plastic windows etc.  We got our dealer to remove them to avoid us potentially damaging the surfaces.

    Gentle warming with a hairdryer will certainly help but also try to double the sticker back on itself, a 180º bend, will also help. It transfers the 'pull' energy into the adhesive causing the molecules to shear and less of the energy being transferred into
    the surface which the sticker is on.

    WD40 is good at removing labels and residue.

    Write your comments here...I haven't tried WD40 for transfers removal but I have been in a caravan workshop when they were having to remove decals and the hair drier was what they used and very successful it was.

    You can buy sticky lable remover, also if you are quick,  cellose thinners, but dry it off quickly as it will melt the windows
