Camping Cheque Savings
There have been many postings on the advantages of accessing an ITX fare by buying Camping Cheques and ferry together.
Yesterday we booked our 2017 trip, Brittany Ferries Plymouth/Rosoff out Thursday night in May and back Sunday morning in June, and the cost of the ferry portion of the fare was £241 including the cabin.
The price booking direct with BF? ................£573 so a saving of £332.
I know the longer routes dont suit everyone but there may be people who would consider them in light of the savings to be made.

It may be a good saving for car+caravan, but not for a MH. I've picked a random Thursday in May, 18th, and a random Sunday in June, 18th, same days of the week as you, and before even booking a cabin, the ferry portion of it was £417!
There have been discussions on this subject before, and it seems the offers are there for a caravan, but definitely not for a MH

Last year we travelled with our friends on Harwich-Hook and their motorhome was slightly more. Next year it would have been over £500 for a BF crossing so they are going P&O Dover-Calais, on the dates you used, for £107 for. 8m x 3..3m van.
They are not members so have booked with Camping Cheques over the phone-which I simply passé to him after making my booking and the same lady dealt with him!

That's a good price with P&O, but it goes to show that the BF offer "doesn't fit all".
Well, we've booked the tunnel with Tesco vouchers at a cost of £4 on top of the vouchers! As for CCs, I have been offered some for 2017/18 already, at less than face value, so we're sorted now
We do prefer the tunnel, but are always open to a bargain on a different route.

Just for balance, in regard to the cost of car and van versus a motorhome, we found the same type of price difference between prices on the tunnel for us, with a car and van, being considerably more than for a motorhome. Mind you, as it is 330 miles more
each way routes from Dover etc are no use to us, even at the prices available, unless we are then heading further East. If we ever manage to get enough Tesco vouchers we may reconsider! The main reason for my post was to give an actual example rather than a hypothetical one so that people could see the savings that can be made.

I would have thought that the best discounted price for Brittany ferries should be available from the CC without having to buy camping cheques " which I dont need" I feel we are being held to ransom for the best rate, I have used Camping cheques in the past
but find the ACSI card far more flexible when looking for sites on route in Europe0 -

We are members & have booked Brittany Ferries via CC without buying camping cheques

The Caravan Club generally offer a discount, which brings their standard price down below the ferry companies. However, you are not 'blackmailed' into buying Camping Cheques (or paying for some nights on a campsite) - you buy them as part of an ITX package (which includes accommodation) and this brings the total cost down significantly in a lot of cases. In fact for many the total cost of the package INCLUDING the cost of the Camping Cheques is often quite a bit less than the cost of the ferry alone.
