We are thinking of travelling through Germany to Austria.

We want to cycle along Mosel, Rhine and Dunube (gentle cycles).

We want to see Rhine gorge, Lake Constance and Vienna.

Has anyone any tips for fab sites, and must see places.

We will be travelling in Stanley our new Stanway Van conversion.

We went this year and did much the same as you are planning.  First stop was Zell am Moselle, lovely campsite on river and walking distance to town, plenty of cycle rides and boat trips etc. On the Rhine plenty of sites, we stayed at Rhudesheim which is
within walking distance of the town and again lots of cycling along the river plus walking and boat trips.  We stopped over at Salzburg before going on to Vienna where we camped at Donau Klosternberg an easy train ride into Vienna or alternatively the Danube
cycle path goes right by the campsite.  Whatever you decide enjoy

We always use Stellpltze in Germany....the Bord Atlas is one of the best guides (3000+)

    Beverley

We went to Vienna earlier in the year and our return journey took us along the Danube. I have a Blog

    here
    which may be of interest.

We visit Germany and Austria every year and have done with the Caravan since 2004.

If you go here to my website there is a comprehensive List of Campsites in Germany and Austria most of them ACSI Camping Card if you are going out of season.  A list of places to visit in each country and a page or two for every trip we have made with sites and photo's.  Happy to answer any questions you might have beverey12.

As you can see we travel with Car & Caravan and like to stay at good campsites with plenty of facilities most of which are good for MHs too.

Cycle routes along the Rhein and Mosel are excellent and there are buses that will take you and your bikes from village to village so that you can extend your trips. Cycling along the Danube is slighly less 'organised' but there are lots of campsites and
Stellplatz sites that border the rivers in Germany and campsites that border the Danube in Austria.

The Lake Constance area is particulary busy in August but at other times there is no need to book ahead.

There's a CC recommended site in Tulln which is within cycling distance of Vienna. Alternatively its a short cycle ride to the Tulln railway station for Vienna. Cyclists are well catered for in mainland Europe, its such a pity that here in the UK we are
    so far behind them.
